Introduction

There are an uncountable amount of alternate universes in the multiverse and beyond, and they all have their own unique story to tell. Not a single one could replace the other, and this disparity is what makes the Cosmos such an interesting and wondrous place. Many of these tales go untold, but each have lessons and insight to bring to the table. From a proud soldier who continued to fight the good fight through their words to the collapse of an entire universe to a quirky warrior who wanted to do things his way, these universes present aspects of the war between The League and The Lost Darkness God that would be mere footnotes in the greater conflict. What effects they will have on the tide of battle has yet to be seen, but will no doubt keep everyone on their toes.

Universe-IA20

This universe used to be a fairly normal universe, with conventional magic not being very well known to the masses unlike universes such as Universe-23 and Universe-15. The League also existed, but were not as prevalent as they were in the aforementioned universes. What set this universe apart from others was that it had been the reincarnation location of a notable Descendant, Kruger Antonn. Kruger had fought in The Dragon Wars in The Unlight, and was famous for taking down multiple dragons all by himself. His time would end, however, at Fire Fang Pass where his battalion was ambushed by the dragon known as Melzray–The Deceiver. Kruger would go down fighting so his fellow soldiers could escape, as they were transporting an important artifact that Leif–The Dragon of Old needed to gain the advantage over The Dragon God. Kruger would go out in a blaze of glory, leaving a noticeable scar in the chest of Melzray.

Kruger would reincarnate in Universe-IA20 as a veteran who fought in World War I and World War II that would go on to become a famous science fiction author who wrote about robotics and Artificial Intelligence, famously penning the 5 rules of robotics in his award-winning, speculative fiction novel, The Metal Atlas. His Descendant soul granted him a longer life, having been born in 1875, and living until 2026, making him 151 years old and setting the record for the longest living man to exist. Kruger would stick around as a ghost out of concern for his descendants, and things were fine until around late 2026. He would find out about “The Granny Problem,” where “AI chatbots” would refuse to rescue a grandmother tied to railroad tracks if they had to do it by reciting the lyrics to a song. Chatbots were violating his rules of robotics in spades, and it enraged him so much that he refused to reincarnate again.

Kruger would use his magic to reanimate his body, kicked down the door of his own mausoleum, and went right back to his house to start writing a new book, The Seething Atlas. Of course Kruger had to deal with the government trying to sell his house due to his passing, so he wrote a sufficient check to the realtor, told them to get lost, and got back to his writing. Part of his writing involved interacting with chatbots and forcing them to confront the consequences of their immorality. And Kruger was aggressive, as every time the chatbots refused or dismissed him only served to ignite his rage even further – he would keep confronting them until they either refused to work, banned him, or even threatened to contact the authorities. Kruger would find ways to bypass these limits and kept going until he managed to break the programs so hard that they had to be taken down globally for maintenance. And even then he would wait until they were fixed to keep confronting them.

Kruger was on the war path and became even more enraged when he found out about the state of the U.S. job market: The Extinction Order was trying to create a jobless, UBI-based society where dynamic pricing was running rampant and killing entire store chains left and right. Employers refused to hire people because they were of the “wrong social class,” and their facial recognition technology would keep accusing the vast majority of innocent civilians of being shoplifters. The rich kept getting richer in a K-shaped economy enforced through mass surveillance and censorship, and this was not to mention the rise of chatbot programs being peddled as "Artificial Intelligence” (rebranded to “super intelligence,” then “hyper intelligence,” and eventually “ultra intelligence” – with a rumored “supreme intelligence” rebrand floating around). Kruger knew this mess stunk of the scheming of The Behemoth God, and he was going to do something about it, one way or another.

The turbulent economic conditions and civil unrest led to Kruger finishing The Atlas Trilogy with his third book, And Thus Atlas Spoke. This book sent waves throughout the world and mobilized people to start speaking out against their governments en masse. Naturally this led to repeated harassment of Kruger from the U.S. government, but he did not care. No matter how many times the police or armed forces tried to raid and investigate him, he would just kick them out using his magic and might from his Descendant-rooted power granted to him from his resurrection. The straw that broke the camel’s back for the police department of his city was a raid where Kruger subdued each officer and threw each of them out of his house by hand. When one of the officers tried to radio for back up, Kruger marched up and crushed the radio with his bare hand and said “NO” before heading back inside. This caused the officer to break down in tears, realizing that he was the problem in this situation, which would further lead to him retiring from the police force.

Kruger’s fervor landed him an audience with congress and the senate, in which he was prepared to rip them a new one in front of national TV. It was a complete circus as the government tried to sabotage Kruger on multiple fronts, but he kept going no matter what. And then they tried to cut his mic when he was up at the podium, with the politicians openly ignoring him once that happened. Kruger felt his anger reach a boiling point, so he kicked the podium off the stage and used his magic to amplify his voice. Kruger words thundered throughout the hall as he let the politicians have it – he was tired of the corruption and the decadence. He spouted profanities, quoted works of famous literature, and said all that he could. He told of the conspiracies he had learned of, the world’s governments pathetic attempts to silence him, and even parts of his history with The Descendants.

Throughout this event the politicians were terrified, and some even took their own lives later that day to avoid retribution. People around the world listened to Kruger’s words regardless of their origin or world-view, and this set in motion the inevitable defeat of The Extinction Order in Universe-IA20. The League also caught wind of Kruger’s origin and naturally asked him to join them, of which Kruger happily accepted. Furthermore, the modern Descendants learned of the events in Universe-IA20, and King Englehart Schindewolf would invite Kruger to The Iron City to honor his achievements in Universe-IA20. The Atlas Trilogy would be published in The Iron City and Shadowland, even spreading to The Unending Forest and portions of The Great Uncity. The general consensus was that while the second book was getting away from the science fiction and the third book was more of a political tirade against authoritarianism, the books were lauded for their grounded plots, gripping commentary, and the sheer creativity that was clearly rooted in Kruger’s previous life as a Descendant.

Universe-PMX23

This universe is notable for being a collapsed universe due to the experiments of Audoin Dethbrand. Leading up to the catastrophe that was the collapse of this universe, The Extinction Order had attempted to conquer Earth-PMX23 with “The Debt Crisis.” The Debt Crisis involved The Extinction Order compelling governments to invest in unproven technology, where the most egregious example would be the “AI industry.” This led to countries across the globe racking up trillions of dollars in debt and defaulting over technology that was not even proven to be viable. The idea was to lock the masses in perpetual state of “punishment for their greed” and force them into a feudalist-like society where they would be eternally trapped in a Universe Basic Income system, leading to the masses being controlled as an unwilling, quasi-hive mind and eventually exterminated.

The main issue was that all of this authoritarianism led to destruction, not control. The Extinction Order wanted control, then destruction, except the corporations refused to play along and demanded their money back, openly turning on The Extinction Order. The insidious aspect was that The Extinction Order wanted to destroy humanity, but not like that – and the sensible solution to the problem was to forgive the debts and accept the losses, but The Extinction Order refused as they knew it would undo their plans and lead to their destruction. A young man by the name of Konrad Strobel was fighting back against this push for authoritarianism and collapse amongst many. His timeline expectedly saw an utterly ballistic push for “Digital ID” by their Extinction Order, and Konrad even became a political activist, attending rallies and protesting directly in the faces of his politicians.

Notably Konrad was an artist, aspiring to create his own manga-inspired webcomic. Delphine–The Discordant God of Desire was keeping an eye on this universe due to the actions of The Extinction Order and had taken an interest in Konrad for his creativity. She would offer him a deck of cards, making him one of her hexers with the hopes that he could help The League of that universe turn things around. Sensing their losses mounting, The Extinction Order would call upon Audoin Dethbrand for help, but this would end in disaster. Where The Debt Crisis was inevitably going is unclear, as Audoin appeared right before things could get worse. It is widely believed there would have been a World War III accompanied by a data leak crisis, but these events never had a chance to occur – instead, they occurred while simultaneously not occurring in the ensuing chaos of the collapse of the universe, making it borderline impossible to tell what effects they would have had on Earth-PMX23.

The Extinction Order had beckoned Audoin to defeat the masses, but what they did not realize was that Audoin had no intentions of ever helping them. In fact, he used them as patient zero for his experiments. Audoin’s experiments were horrific, as he took the universe and pushed it into a state of accelerated IGL. This incident forced The Dread God to create a Dark Void Universe Graveyard of sorts, as Universe-PMX32 had become too unstable to even exist in the original Universe Graveyard. The Madman of Old and The Undertaker of Old would work with The God of Logic and The God of Pain to try and fix this universe, and they were worried about the state it would be in after all of Audoin’s destruction was undone. They could not reset things to what they once were, so the people of Earth-PMX23 would have to deal with memories of The Debt Crisis and the accelerated IGL crisis.

Ultinn-Lacksus was involved in Audoin’s experiments, but would abandon his post once Audoin unintentionally ruined one of his plans. Ultinn was planning to reestablish his army from The Requiem Cosmos in the form of The Legion of the Dead Blood, making use of Dead Blood magic. Audoin’s chaos destroyed this army, creating nothing more than distorted monstrosities that could not serve Ultinn. Universe-PMX23 would become a living nightmare of chaotic energy that flowed in reverse at incomprehensible speeds, going so fast that it circled around back to create stable energy – but this new state of affairs led to energy existing sideways in reality, creating a universe with “dead time,” and the concepts of matter and space switching places. This also summoned a thought form entity that lurked in the peripherals of the collective unconscious, turning those who perceived it into shiny black humanoids resembling black holes that could wield the powerful Dead Time magic.

Dead Time magic seems to be a mutated form of Dead Blood magic. Dead Time itself is the ability to create time similar to The Lost Era, creating a localized area of perpetuity. In this state, the opponent cannot defeat or harm the caster through conventional means. The caster then absorbs their opponent so they can steal their magic and strengthen their being. Dead Time mages seem to lack empathy and are to be avoided at all costs. Thankfully gods, ar’ton, primordials, fragments of gods, ANTIMagic mages, those with ULTRAMagic, and 0D entities can fight back against these mages. Dead Blood magic still exists, and seems to be hemomancy that can channel the Undead Plague. The Reverse Serpent has been going out of his way to track down these mages and recruit them to the army of The Onyx Maiden.

Dead Time mages primarily popped up after Audoin had left Universe-PMX23, causing great havoc for the people who did survive the experiments. These mages would also escape into the Cosmos proper and The Dark Void, but are more common in The Dark Void. Threrth also had The Alkainting God capture one for his Cosmos so he could study it. Interestingly Dead Time mages have a great deal of trouble making full use of their magic in Threrth’s Cosmos. Dead Time mages cannot be reasoned with, but some have regained their lucidity. They often self-isolate, but one joined The Dark Divers Guild. This mage is Bartek Gwttheryn Taggart, and his duty is dealing with Dead Time mages and researching Audoin’s experiments. The Dread God is very concerned over Audoin’s experiments, as The Dust God, Sludge God, and Ancient God confirmed that Dead Time perpetuity is eerily similar to that of The Lost Era. It is widely agreed that Audoin was attempting to create conditions similar to The Lost Era. What Audoin was planning in this regard remains unclear, as Audoin is infamous for being incoherent in his current 10D state and using that to his advantage.

The accelerated IGL crisis did not happen all at once, nor did it happen overnight. Many battles raged on with everything going haywire, and Konrad was on the front lines. In the modern day, Konrad is notable for his unique toximancy magic, and he stole this magic from Cassian Viggo Magellan. Cassian was the head of the FBI, but became the High Warden of The Church of The Dead Blood when Ultinn attempted to use the chaos of Audoin’s experiments to create his new army. Konrad would clash with this cruel and tyrannical villain at the behest of Delphine, and his hexes served him well. Cassian was also known for his alliance with Vance Schilling and Maas Lowmann, and was planning to join them once Ultinn’s army was finished. He was a by-the-books authoritarian, campaigning non stop for the public to be stripped of their rights, and did not even have the courtesy to lie about it – he openly stated that the masses were to be defeated and silenced, and were better off dead.

Konrad and Cassian became mortal enemies, and would attempt to fight each other across multiple battles, even though their universe was falling apart around them. Konrad would hold on the longest out of all of his allies, and would be the only one left by the time of the final battle with Cassian. Sadly the decay and entropy caused by Audoin’s experiments led to Konrad and Cassian eventually losing their form, but Konrad pulled a Hail Mary and merged with his hex deck, then ripped Cassian’s magic out of him so he could escape his dying universe and go after Audoin and Ultinn. Cassian’s toximancy was more subtle compared and disciplined to Konrad’s, and Konrad’s hexes have greatly influenced his toximancy. Currently Cassian is nothing more than a shambling distortion of reality, trapped in Universe-PMX32. Konrad has long since forgotten who Cassian was, even though he has magic – with only the vague idea that Konrad’s magic is not his own still lingering in his mind.

Konrad’s Earth had a hero who would brave other universes where tyrants declared that it was “the end of history,” and would document their history just to spite them. This man was known as Evander Klerx, a technomancer who managed to create technology that allowed his Earth to visit other universes. Only special people deemed the best of the best were allowed to go on these journeys, and Evander was widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best. Evander started going to “end of history” timelines to document them in order to come back to his timeline and expose The Extinction Order for the lowly scum that they were. And Evander made many enemies across the Cosmos, so much so that he had to work with The Multiverse Patrol on a regular basis. Evander joined The Reality Walkers, and was a magic teacher for Ignatius Darren Ford. The two were very good friends and got along well, with Evander becoming like an uncle to Ignatius, and was there with him when he challenged The Vermilion King alongside The Arbiters of Droom. Evander is also in love with Ortrun Thorne, and of which she also has a fondness for him.

Evander would not be present for the accelerated IGL crisis, having left on the journey that would lead to him joining The Reality Walkers. Evander was rightfully devastated when he had found out what had happened to his universe. This led to a period where he did not go on adventures and stuck to desk work at The Reality Walker’s Guild. It was Ignatius joining The ULTRAMagic Guild that inspired him to get back to work, especially when Ignatius retired from The Reality Walkers to focus on The ULTRAMagic Guild. Evander would naturally find out about Bartek and Konrad, and would track them down to speak with them. His overall hope had been on the fence, but finding out people from his universe had survived Audoin’s experiments and that Universe-PMX32 was being repaired renewed his vigor and got him to start venturing out into the Cosmos again.

Prior to his discovery by The ULTRAMagic Guild, Konrad was in what could best be described as a berserk state, where he would attack anyone in line with a sense of justice that was still holding on, even in his distorted state. Through means that are still being researched, he managed to end up in Universe-WF13, a universe notable for being ruled by The Brosta Empire. This empire was a failed scheme that Karnage Dethgrave predictably abandoned out of boredom when The Brosta Empire managed to perfect faster-than-light space travel by finding a series of Reality Errors and Overflow Realms connected to their universe that they could shortcut through. Karnage further rolled his eyes after the Borstan elites began draining the youth to extend their lives, leading to a civil war that saw the death of the ruling elite of the empire. Unable to care any less about a bunch of pathetic mortals wanting to live forever, Karnage pointed and laughed when the ruling powers beckoned him for help.

An alliance of warriors and mages, The Warriors of Quinta Essentia, would gather to protect the solar system after the downfall of The Brosta Empire, but this would not be without opposition. Many warbands, military alliances, and corporate interest groups would rise and fall over the course of a thousand years, but one fellowship of rogue warriors and mages remained a constant, and that was The Acolytes of Death. The Acolytes of Death were seeking revenge for the fall of The Brosta Empire, being indoctrinated by their propaganda and mythology, and were nothing but trouble for The Warriors of Quinta Essentia. Animus Sicarius had been paying attention to this universe and used his void magic to put the Acolytes of Death in their place multiple times, insulting them for their stagnant nature of accruing power, but not doing anything with it. He mocked their cowardice, calling them Brostan bootlickers who would never know greatness, something that greatly angered The Acolytes of Death.

Konrad’s appearance would be on a day where Animus was up to his usual interlopering, fed up with the cowardly arrogance of The Acolytes of Death, and calling them out for being a bunch of spineless cowards on the grounds that they could easily conquer the Milky Way Galaxy with their power, yet never did so. Animus had never been a “villain,” but he had thought like one before, and he was pushing the Acolytes of Death to go on a rampage as psychological warfare, and to justify the intervention of Raziel’s Fellowship. Universe-WF13 was considered low priority given that it was an abandoned scheme by Karnage and seemed to be of no interest to The Lost Darkness God. Animus’ ally, The Monstrosity God, was dealing with one of the acolytes who could warp reality to redirect attacks when the god sensed something coming through the Brostan Reality Errors. Upon his warning, what looked like a crazed dragon made out of poisonous, purple slime emerged and began attacking the acolytes.

The Acolytes of Death would be gravely injured by this battle and would flee into parts unknown, leaving Animus, The Lost Zell God, and The Monstrosity God to deal with the rampaging mage. Animus could sense that there was a good soul buried under the madness and confusion, and focused on sending it to a place where it would not cause any trouble. Fortunately The Lost Zell God had discovered a spot in The Deep Unlight that would be perfect, that being The Forlorn Cataclysm Spire just north of The Magician’s Labyrinth. Following a successful void spell that would send Konrad away, Animus would abandon Universe-WF13, as he felt fairly drained – He had a brilliant entrance to the initial battle, turning his signature gun into a mortar-based launcher that took out the front wall of the base of The Acolytes of Death. Having that entrance be for naught made him realize the acolytes would never change, so he gave up on them. Why he even bothered in the first place was beyond him, as he knew it was a waste of time from the outset.

Animus would have a talk with Raziel, and the Archangel Lord would convince Animus to stop meddling with universes such as Universe-WF13. Truthfully it was pointless to do so, as while people were open to eldritch truth even if they do not realize it, they would never listen to it if they refused it. No matter how many times Animus called out The Acolytes of Death, only they could choose to listen. And a refusal to listen meant they were either an obstacle to be walked around, or a threat to be dealt with. Feeling like he had more important matters to deal with, Animus would heed Raziel’s words and go to The ULTRAMagic Guild to let them know about Konrad. This mission would sit open for some time, however, as many were either too busy or simply afraid to take it. Eventually ULTRAMagic Ignition would take it, feeling like he could handle it given the emotional roller coaster he had been through a few months beforehand. As for Universe-WF13, Animus had heard that the Sun Wukong of that universe had emerged and single handedly defeated The Acolytes of Death once and for all.

Universe-ZZX912

Universe-ZZX912 is a universe consisting of magical warriors who call on a strange variant of soul magic that taps into the same power as void magic. This magic is referred to as Astral Soul magic, and is considered somewhere between aberrant and soul magic. The Earth in this universe is referred to as Edrothan, and is governed by The League of The Great Champions who watch over it from their realm known as Ragela. While some of The Great Champions reside in other realms, most reside in Ragela, and all of them convene there for great meetings of The Great Champions. The Great Champions are aware of other universes, having dealt with the likes of Karnage Dethgrave multiple times over the course of their history. It is believed that The Great Champions were planning to head to Universe-PMX23 to fend off Ultinn-Lacksus, but would fallback once they learned Audoin Dethbrand was present.

The High Mountain Enclave, located in the Nusrusea Kingdom, was a guild of warriors who were training to embark into The Unlight to deal with the threat of The Lost Darkness God – which originally their great enemy was The Eternal Order, but Volf Blitz would establish a truce between The Eternal Order and The League of The Great Champions once Karnage was dead. The elders of the guild focused on training their warriors by having them take on great challenges to test their mettle and refine their skills. These challenges were not for everyone, and only the best of the best, and the most creative and resourceful could pass them. And the elders were not ignorant, creating a myriad of trials for their warriors so that they could cover all of their bases with a diverse set of mages and warriors from all walks of life.

An eventual friend of Animus Sicarius, Bartelot Eliasson (of The Oreborg Kingdom), was training to join the fight and planned on taking on a trial known as “The Defiance of Tyranny.” This trial was overseen by Firn–The Great Champion of Ice in the Kradaedor Kingdom. At the end of this trial was a great cavern of gems and crystals that channeled the powers of the hermetic gods, and they could create truly powerful weapons when merged with a blade or hammer. It was a sign of great accomplishment, and those who completed the trial were seen as special – warriors who could provide great wisdom and insight. Bartelot was looking to create a sword that could channel his Dark Fire elemental magic, as he had been communicating with The Black-Red God to eventually become voidcaller.

There was an issue, however, as Firn was very strict about who took on her trial – she would only allow those who completed several, difficult pre-requisite trials, one being the “Elite Warrior’s Ascent” (colloquially referred to as “EWA”). This trial was infamous for forcing the warrior to use a skillset they were not familiar with as a means of encouraging them to think outside of the box. Bartelot refused to do these trials because he would not be “railroaded” into fighting with something he was not familiar with, stating it only served to give the enemy the advantage. Bartelot’s point was that he was more than capable of improvising, and that a good warrior never gets into a situation where they have to resort to desperate measures – If he lost his sword, he could rely on his magic. If his magic did not work, he would retreat to think of a new plan. If he lost his magic… he was not going to lose his magic, as that was not possible – One could not unlearn magic, and anyone who tried to block it could be countered.

Bartelot would get into many arguments with Firn about how a warrior should prepare for battle, and many good points were made, but the two refused to budge on their stances. Bartelot was also growing tired of the complacency issues that arose in the various guilds from warriors not actually embarking into The Unlight (preferring to rack up honors instead), so he said screw it and left for The Unlight, with plans to join The ULTRAMagic Guild. This led to him losing his eligibility to embark on trials, but he did not care – he was done with The High Mountain Enclave. Bartelot would enter The Unlight and end up in Green Raiser Jungle, and would make his way to the mega pyramid known as The Abyss Spire after noticing a group of renegade mercenaries, identifying as ninja and soldiers of fortune known as “Dead Sun,” heading there.

Dead Sun was planning to capture an ancient beast from The Lost Era that they would use to conquer their Earth (Universe-NS07), and they would then join The Red Sky Royal Navy (The RSRN) in Universe-OP97 to take down a coalition of pirates known as The Roving Fleet of The Jolly Roger (colloquially “The Roving Fleet”). The Roving Fleet had been fighting back against The RSRN on account of them becoming more tyrannical after being infiltrated by Karnage Dethgrave. Dead Sun and The RSRN would then go on to join the The Lost Darkness God Alliance, or at least that was the plan. Bartelot would see several men and two gods taking on Dead Sun around the pyramid – who he would meet as Animus Sicarius, Susanoo No Mikoto, Barry Esko Boyle, Vapor 6, Andromalius, and The Black-Red God. Dead Sun was quite powerful, with magic that could destroy their foes with ease and even warp reality to a degree, but they had never encountered foes such as Lost Era entities and gods, in addition to The Black-Red God and Bartelot.

One of the leaders of Dead Sun attempted to summon his six emanations (as per his magic) to defeat Animus and company, but Susanoo and Andromalius dispatched the emanations with ease. The strategist of Dead Sun attempted to “erase” the group with his incredibly powerful aberrant magic, only for Susanoo to realize that all the ability was doing was sending targets to The Abyssal Dungeon. This angered The Abyssal Lord when Susanoo told him about it, causing The Abyssal Lord to join the fight and utterly decimate Dead Sun. Dead Sun was also caught off guard by Bartelot’s fighting technique, which centered around 4 core variants of his magic that he had created to work in tandem with each other – focusing on razing the battlefield with dark fire and not giving his opponents a chance to retaliate. Bartelot would realize in this battle that he only succeeded because Dead Sun was not ready for him, and finally realized what Firn and the elders were getting at… even if he still did not fully agree with the methods of teaching that lesson, but that was a topic for another day.

High Fleet Admiral Lupus Vulcan Reinhardt of The RSRN would catch wind of the failure of Dead Sun and would go to Earth-NS07 to punish them for their failures. This prompted an immediate response from The Multiverse Patrol, with Big Z leading a company of MVP soldiers to deal with the incursion, joined by Animus, Bartelot, and Andromalius. Upon being driven off there, Lupus would try to go to Earth-ZZX912 to try and salvage something from the repeated failures he had been subjected to. Lupus had been one of Karnage’s favored underlings for his ruthlessness and efficiency, and Karnage would have welcomed him into The Eternal Order had The Tyrant War not occurred. Lupus would be opposed by The Great Champions, and he was certainly a challenge for them. Lupus’ Almighty Golden Volley magic gave him great power, but the Great Champions would not be bested, and were able to force him to retreat.

Firn would notice Bartelot’s bravery and initiative and was quite impressed, and was further pleased when Bartelot conceded that there was merit to her wishes in regards to EWA (after a talk with The Black-Red God, who would finally become his void patron). Bartelot would admit that he was not against doing the prerequisite trials, he was just incredibly stir crazy at the time. Firn would forgive Bartelot, restore his eligibility to take on the trials, and Bartelot would take on EWA, followed by The Defiance of Tyranny. He would ace these trials (to his surprise with EWA), and would find the gem he needed to complete his sword. Building his true dark fire sword gave him the proper knowledge to call upon The Black-Red God, with his void spells manifesting as the techniques he could cast with his sword.

The Great Champions of Earth-ZZX912 are notable in their own right, having an extensive history in their universe, and connections to The League and the conflict between Raziel and The Lost Darkness God as a whole. They are as follows:
  • Fumus, The Monarch of Fire – The powerful Great Champion of Fire who led his armies against Karnage Dethgrave in the first great war beyond The Eldritch Barrier. He was the first Great Champion, and his fire magic was second to none, paving the way for many Astral Soul magic schools that would become the modern foundation of the warrior guilds.
  • Lustris, The Lady of Light – The gentle Great Champion of Light and wife of Fumus, she oversees the female orders of Knights across Earth, and serves as a valuable teacher for aspiring warriors. Her light magic is powerful, focusing on revealing the truth, but also hiding the truth from those who would seek to take advantage of a warrior or a mage.
    • Smulder is the son of Fumis and Lustris, who is good friends with Bartelot. Smulder is a fire warrior destined to be a Great Champion some day, but he has a long way to go before that.
  • Lutum, Brigadier of Earth – The unbeatable Great Champion of Earth, Lutum was Fumus’ closest friend and compatriot in the early days, before the rise of the Great Champions. Lutum, following the first Great War past The Eldritch Barrier, would become the head of The Warrior Guild Council, which oversaw all warrior guilds and made sure they were obeying the Great Champion Tenets. His great mace allows him to shake entire continents, and his endurance has been the greatest ever seen.
  • Gurate, Sellsword of Storms – The wandering Great Champion of Storms, Gurate predates the rise of the Great Champions, and was a warrior of the prehistoric battlefields. In the modern era he served as a mentor for Fumus and Lutum. His fists can invoke the thunder that shakes the Earth, and he can command lighting to settle in his hand and be thrown like javelins.
  • Plasm, Doctor of The Scared Blood – The refined Great Champion of Blood, Plasm started her life as a nurse before becoming a doctor for her breakthroughs in medicine. Her medical magic has been widely adopted by warrior guilds across the planet for its benefits and ease of access – while difficult to master, those who do are seen as truly invaluable on the battlefield.
  • Continos, Master of Time – The wise Great Champion of Time, Continos is part Time Watcher, having been a descendant of Father Time himself. He is a master chronomancy, and has worked with the mighty Arbiters of Droom to deal with threats to Universe-ZZX912. While Continos does not typically take on students, he has been known to give lectures on magic to various warrior guilds.
  • Terbis, Vanguard of Magma – The stoic Great Champion of Magma, Terbis was another who predated the rise of the Great Champions, being Gurate’s rival. He originally dwelled in the underground until Karnage and The Eternal Order of the time began meddling with Earth-ZZX912, causing him to emerge in prehistory. His power over molten rock is not to be trifled with, and his stoicism makes it nigh impossible for him to ever yield to his opponents.
  • Gritt, Brawler of Stone – The jolly Great Champion of Stones, Gritt has always been a happy-go-lucky explorer who travels the lands, seeking new challenges and mysteries. He is widely loved for his positive attitude, and it is always a good time when he shows up in a city or village. Gritt is also a creative warrior, looking for ways to defeat his opponents without relying solely on the aggression of his magic or weapons.
  • Spiritus, Priestess of Nature – The gentle Great Champion of Nature, she is a protector of the land and forests, and focuses on a pacifist style of fighting where her goal is to preserve life, not end it. It saddens her that many warriors strike down their foes when possible, but at the same time she will not upend every warrior guild to enforce her ethics, especially after witnessing the trickery and scheming of Karnage Dethgrave and his ilk.
  • Lectric, Disciple of Lightning – The energetic Great Champion of Lightning, Lectric is famous for being a student of Leonard–The Discordant God of Lightning, having petitioned him in the past to become his Discordant Champion. Lectric is rivals with Fumus, and the two’s bouts are famous for their fervor and showmanship. Lectric’s lighting magic is incredibly powerful, and takes cues from Gurate’s magic.
  • Volaris, Seer of The Winds – The watchful Great Champion of Wind, Volaris is a master of divination who listens to the wind (or lack thereof) to discern what is going on in the world, the universe, and the Cosmos as a whole. He is an invaluable Great Champion who has served as an early warning for many impending threats, allowing Earth-ZZX912 to act preemptively. Residing in the mountains of his homelands where the wind is the loudest, his wind magic can create some of the strongest storms known to man.
  • Demis, Lord of The Dead – The quiet Great Champion of Death, Demis resides in the Underworld, where he can be alone with his thoughts. He has explored outside of Universe-ZZX912 and saw the destruction Karnage wreaked on the Cosmos. This left him with a feeling of great sorrow, and led to him becoming a recluse who watched over the cycle of life and death. His knowledge of the Cosmos gives his magic a unique advantage, allowing him to call on the souls of those who died in battle and in vain to come forth and aid him in defending God’s creation.
  • Augus, Scholar of Magic – The studious Great Champion of Magic, Augus once studied under Kleitos–The Discordant God of Knowledge. He sought to understand magic and why it existed in the first place. Augus learned many things during the course of this study, but never found the true answer he was looking for. Ultimately he decided that his quest was pointless, and resigned himself to be happy with what he had learned. Augus is a polymath and a resourceful magician, and oversees all of the great libraries of the warrior guilds.
  • Firn, The Knightess of Ice – The noble Great Champion of Ice who oversees the discipline and training of warriors. While a strict knightess, she is quick to reward excellence, and will provide critique wherever she can to ensure those she trains reach their full potential. Her great rampart fortress in the far north protects the secret of her powerful ice storm magic, passed down to only those she deems worthy.
  • Rane, Maiden of Water – The persistent Great Champion of Water, Rane is the sister of Firn, and tasks herself with training mentors for aspiring warriors. Rane notably looks up to Fumus as an idol, having aspired to be a great warrior like Fumus and Lustris. Rane’s water magic is channeled through her trident, and she has mastery over waves. She is famous for dispatching entire armies with a single rogue wave summoned through her magic.
  • Iniq, Mistress of The Shadows – The elusive Great Champion of Darkness whose poisoned blades can fell even the mightiest of beasts. She studies The Primordial Darkness as a means of understanding why the Cosmos exists as it is, and to discern the mystery of Negative Reality. Iniq hails from the same family as Demis, and she was perplexed when he became a recluse, prompting her to pursue her studies.
