ULTRAMagic (Before) Prelude - Chapter 8

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      “What’s with all the commotion?” Leif asked with a yawn as he entered the rather busy situation room the next morning. The bright, blue light of the arcane display screens slightly overwhelmed his eyes and made him squint. “Did Damien show up again?”      “It would appear so, Leif,” Sander answered. “The Highway Knight pulled an all-nighter and discovered Damien heading towards the city of Akan-Akan-Akantar…”      Leif paused mid yawn and groaned. “Did it have to be there?”      “Well you know Audoin’s obsession with the Lost Era…” Scotty pointed out. “I really hope Damien isn’t trying to restart Audoin’s plans…”      “He probably is, Scotty,” Erikson reminded him. “I don’t think Audoin is aware of what Damien is doing, but let’s not let them make any progress. On the bright side, Leif, The Lost Upside Down God reached out to us just as The Highway Knight...

ULTRAMagic (Before) Prelude - Chapter 7

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      Mind-Wraith and Aava were expecting a tense battle where they would have to stay on their toes to maintain an advantage against Damien, but that is not quite what had happened. In reality it was primarily a one-sided affair with Leif on the offensive and overwhelming Damien despite being at only about half of his true power (and even then he was still lacking). In the rocky valley leading to the biggest cave of the gorge, Leif hounded Damien and barely gave the decaying knight a chance to breathe. Leif’s weapon of choice was what looked like an executioner's axe with a handle length roughly around the size of one for woodcutting. It was an inelegant weapon, but the heavy and reckless slams of the head indicated that Leif had too much pent up frustration to care.      With a roar and strain to extend the weapon, Leif pulled on both ends of the weapon and expanded the axe into a halberd and became a grea...

UMAE 2026 - Terrus the Chronicler

Image
Art Page - Master Post - Patreon - - - - -      Alright, now here's Terrus... who really should have been the first ar'ton I drew, not The Dreamstalker. It is what it is I guess... Anyways, let's get into some more lore. Check out Ferdi's art from yesterday, as we're still in The Trench Unlight. - - - - -      The ar'ton are a strange group of higher dimensional energy beings. Occupying the dimensions 10 through 13, they are ancient and can't quite remember their origin. What can be remembered is that they were most likely descendants of the Astral Entities, the higher dimensional denizens of the Outer Void and Dream Realm. This makes them alien to the Cosmos Proper as they did not originate from God. Still, the ar'ton are good natured, with only a few amongst them ever going rogue (notable examples being Tereza and The Dreamstalker).      The ar'ton typically reside in Ar'tonius Prime in Somnium, the physically accessible portion of The D...

UMAE 2026 - Ferdi takes a break

Image
Art Page - Master Post - Patreon      Yes, I said on Patreon I was going to be drawing Terrus next, but for some reason I wanted to draw Ferdi instead. Who is Ferdi? Well let's get into that!      We're about to cover The Trench Unlight and I don't really have anything for the topic. Really all I can give you is the lore entry on The Unlight itself... the only issue being that The Trench Unlight is only mentioned. Lore Entry 6 - - - - -      The Trench Unlight is the layer of The Unlight past The Deep Unlight. Whereas that region is incredibly dangerous and untamed, The Trench Unlight goes beyond that. It is an ocean-like region where travel is difficult and there are all manner of strange and never-before seen entities. To even make it through the realm requires special ships designed to traverse the vast void of the trench, with tangible land masses being few and far between, and strange sub-realms with their own rules and laws all over t...

ULTRAMagic (Before) Prelude - Chapter 6

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      The following day, a majestic, four-winged, avian dragon landed in the main courtyard, catching any guild members present off guard. Once the dragon’s passenger hopped off, it reverted back into a beautiful woman in an elegant coat who was accompanied by a quirky man in formal attire. Aava Janzen-Caden and Mind-Wraith Caden had returned from their journey to the border of The Deep Realm of Chaos after needing to assist the Discordant Gods Nacht and Paradoxos with something that concerned the two in regards to the Lost Era. As they made their way inside they were greeted by their fellow guild mates, and while things seemed to be fairly jovial, the two could sense that the guild was abuzz with excitement. Given the news they had received while away it was to be expected and had their interest peaked.      It was lunch time when they entered the sconce and chandelier-lit great hall and they immediately re...

ULTRAMagic (Before) Prelude - Chapter 5

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      “...and that’s all we know at the moment, EP,” Leif concluded as he paced back and forth across the center of his office over the soft, burgundy carpet.      A rune-engraved stone sitting on Leif’s intricate, walnut desk projected the image of a hooded figure, and this man paused to reflect on the situation with Blood-Wraith. “Nosmirc, know that I don’t say this lightly, but you have legitimately put the entire Cosmos in danger…”      Nosmirc felt his adrenaline surge, gripped in panic as he stuttered over his words. “You think I don’t realize that by now?!” he replied, trying to salvage his bruised honor.      “Nosmirc, we are running out of time here,” Tiberius warned. “Remember, we sent Desislav Robles to The Iron City and pushed Dragoslava to return so she could be there for Blood-Wraith. She’s developed a rapport with Mr. Robles, but we have no idea how long she wil...

ULTRAMagic (Before) Prelude - Chapter 4

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      At the opposite end of the castle entered a man of tall and strong stature. He looked tired and worn, yet refused to stop fighting. He sighed as he brushed his combed, dark brown hair back and was met by a kind-looking woman in a modest dress and blouse from the Celtic islands. She had long, curly, dirty blonde hair with a hint of red to it and smelled of wild flowers, which was pleasant to the senses. Her silver eyes met the man’s ruby red eyes and she could see how exhausted he was in general. She got up from her seat in the hall and went to speak to him, hoping to cheer him up.      “Leif, welcome back, dear. How did things go?”      The man exhaled and straightened out his vest. “Hello, Carol. It went… Things went about as well as you would expect. The Beast of Old is still under the hysteria spell from The Fear of Old, and he just would not listen to me. On the bright side I was ab...
