Introduction

In the vast chaos of The Cosmos, many organizations have stepped up to the plate to help maintain order. Individual societies and universes cannot be expected to undertake such perilous tasks, so specialized groups and organizations make it their job to keep a watchful eye on the goings-on of the Cosmos. Many timelines and universes are unequipped to deal with the threats beyond The Eldritch Barrier, and there are just as many who would take advantage of this weakness. The brave and proud Reality Walkers and Multiverse Patrol are two such organizations. While disparate in their methods, organization, and rosters, these organizations are some of the best of the best when it comes to keeping the multiverse and beyond safe and sound. They face many bizarre situations and threats, but are intelligent and resourceful, capable of adapting to any situation and learning from it. And both organizations will not sleep until they know the Cosmos is safe for the night.

Who are The Reality Walkers?

The Reality Walkers are an organization that investigates anomalies in the multiverse and reality. They are the watchdogs who sound the alarms when an issue with existence becomes too dangerous or when people attempt to invade other universes. Typically it goes that The Reality Walkers will look into an issue – If they cannot keep it contained or solve it, they go to The Multiverse Patrol (MVP). The MVP will respond accordingly, but if they cannot handle it, they are expected to go to The Time Watchers – who are usually the end-all be-all to such issues. If the Time Watchers cannot handle the issue, The Madman of Old is called in. While The Reality Walkers have to go to the MVP more often than not, issues that require the intervention of The Time Watchers are rare.

Designated as a guild and stationed on the planet of Aqua World in The Unlight, The Reality Walkers regularly report back to The Multiverse Patrol and Time Watchers on the general goings-on of The Cosmos. Their home on Aqua World was picked out of convenience as it was seemingly abandoned, but they eventually confirmed that it was inhabited back in The Epoch. Eustorgio Pryce during his attempts to stop The Lich of Old would discover that The Reality Walkers had set up their guild on Aqua World and would give them his blessing given that he recognized one of the members, Madame Vanderlei. In return, The Reality Walkers would help Eustorgio from the shadows (not wanting to get directly involved given how sensitive the conflict was), providing aid with protection and hiding, facilitating communication with allies such as The Dark Divers Guild, and making sure Aqua World stayed safe and obscured. The Reality Walkers would also provide support, help, and aid after The UST-ARC-3 returned from its failed attempt to return to its home universe.

Notable Members of The Reality Walkers

The Abyss God

The founder of The Reality Walkers, The Abyss God was originally The Abyss of Old, a primordial who lived in The True Abyss during the Epoch as an observer. He was initially told that his mission was to keep an eye on the Primordial Darkness, but in actuality God was performing an experiment to see if a primordial could become a true god through the attainment of knowledge. Upon reincarnating into the modern era, The Abyss of Old became a true god, but was deemed not ready to take on a Voidcaller, being handed off to The Dread God for training and to further his studies. The Abyss God was incredibly annoyed he had been lied to, but has admitted that the perks of being a god are pretty nice. The Abyss God’s powers center around darkness and calling on the Primordial Darkness, as he is quite knowledgeable on the subject, no thanks to everyone tricking him into becoming a god. He even tried to help The Question God ascend to 11D, but his lacking insight caused more problems than it solved, serving as another reason why The Abyss God needed training.

The Abyss God founded The Reality Walkers because he was paranoid and afraid given what he had learned to become a god. He realized that the Cosmos had a lot of small scale threats and anomalies that the other guilds and organizations could not tend to with ease. His modus operandi with The Reality Walkers was to make sure things did not get out of hand so the others can do their work in peace. The Reality Walkers also allow him a hands-on experience, letting him learn about and understand the concepts and phenomena that were always worrying him. The Abyss God always wanted to get involved with the conflict with The Behemoth God back in The Epoch given that The Singularity of Old was his brother, and The Conspirator of Old was a close friend of his. He was out for blood when he found out what had happened to the two Primordials, but The Madman of Old insisted that his duty was to observe The True Abyss and Primordial Darkness. The Abyss God was not sure how to feel given what his brother did as The Star Eater in The Commercialverse, but at the same time he recognized that they were both gods at that point and could talk things out with their newly-gained insight.

Madame Suzanne Agathe Vanderlei – “Madame Vanderlei”

Madame Vanderlei is an elder of The Reality Walkers who is one of the oldest members hailing from the earliest days of the Epoch. While elderly, she has aged gracefully and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. She is one of the wisest members and is always capable of defusing a scuffle or argument. Madame Vanderlei also keeps people like The Chronomaton of Old and Sir Robrecht (The Knight of Old) from The Multiverse Patrol at bay, providing good arguments and counterpoints against their relentless need for efficiency and order. Suzanne and Sir Robrecht dated during the Epoch, but never took the relationship all the way. Robrecht considered himself too busy to tie himself down and Suzanne has not forgiven him for that – she views him as too strict and highstrung. Likewise, she is not afraid to confront The Chronomaton, causing the primordial to always back down and try to retreat – this hilariously leads to Suzanne lecturing him about how he is working too hard and needs to give the kids running around these days a chance.

Madame Vanderlei is renowned for her charm, charisma, and people skills. She also has been known to be motherly of the members of The Reality Walkers. Whereas The Abyss God can be a bit scatter-brained at times, Madame Vanderlei is the backbone of The Reality Walkers, having lived through many conflicts and the ongoing threat of The Lost Darkness God. At the same time, Madame Vanderlei expects excellence from her fellow Walkers, warning that that dirty old Behemoth God and Lost Darkness God will get them if they ever slouch or slack off. Given her talent for keeping things in line, many organizations under The League’s umbrella have gone to Madame Vanderlei for advice and counseling. As much as she would love to tell everyone the answers are right in front of their faces, she recognizes that it is comforting for those younger than her to hear the advice coming from her mouth.

Notably Madame Vanderlei is also well known for her lack of criticism of The Sepulcher God. She was friends with The Tyrant God and Sepulcher prior to the war to conquer Lost Carcosa. She knows Sepulcher was never truly the real problem, and has advocated for people to be more charitable towards him, despite his actions. While Sepulcher has committed the sin of irreverence, she points out that he did it out of concern, unlike Karnage who only sought to conquer for the sake of conquering. This is something that Anton Bloodthresher (The Tyrant God’s core personality) greatly appreciates, despite Madame Vanderlei being just as critical with him as she is with Sepulcher.

Stephen Roberts Sawyer Parker

Stephen is a quirky, lovable-doofus polymath from Commercial-Universe-SP099, which was a wildly popular cartoon sitcom about his daily life that unfortunately suffered from season rot, being greenlit for upwards of 20 seasons and 5 spin-offs following a disastrous 12th season, in which the series was supposed to end after the show’s big movie concluded the 3rd season. All of this was at the behest of the Hollywood of Universe-23, which was under orders from The Extinction Order at the behest of The Profane Alliance to launder money and subvert society. Stephen’s universe ended up deteriorating to a point where no one acted as they should, with all of his friends behaving like mindless, exaggerated caricatures of themselves, performing routines based on nonsense from the show rather than being themselves. Fortunately bringing back eldritch knowledge has helped, but there is a lot of work to be done. Stephen has gone on record saying “Everything went downhill after the movie, damn it…”

Stephen had always been suffering a degree of madness as the rot of his universe had affected him, but thankfully his blue domestic shorthair cat, Garett, kept his head on straight. One day after the usual nonsense of dealing with his corrupted friends, he encountered The Zombie God (appearing in her true original form), who offered to take him somewhere where he could start fixing his home. Evidently The Zombie God was a superfan of Stephen’s show, and wanted to help him out – a strange departure for The Zombie God, but a welcome one nonetheless. This was a bit of a double-edged sword, however, as it meant Stephen could never truly go back to his old life – but anything was better than the entropy he had been subjected to. While he was depressed for a period of time after leaving, The Reality Walkers would approach him to join them, and this would serve to restore his infectious charisma and positivity. His old anger streak was also preserved, getting upset when things started going wrong, stemming from a desire to do his best and feeling like he was not doing his best – This anger is always endearing and theatrical, stealing the show and occasionally making people laugh, as they all know Stephen is a good person no matter what.

Stephen would serve as the mentor of Ignatius Ford when he joined The Reality Walkers for training in his quest to defeat The Vermilion King. Ignatius took a massive liking to Stephen, seeing him as a second father more than a mentor. Stephen is good friends with Scotty Cottonwood of The Dark Divers Guild, despite Scotty always calling him a “city slicker” – Scotty had also recognized what show Stephen was from and was starstruck as he had grown up with the show. Barry Esko Boyle of The ULTRAMagic Guild is also a good friend of Stephen’s, as Stephen will occasionally lend him a hand with his music and provide vocals for his tracks when necessary. Stephen also handles introducing new recruits given his friendliness and playfulness, such as acting like a cool dude at first or playing practical jokes on newbies.

Stephen is a massive dork at times, but he is quite the talented individual. He is notable for enjoying extreme sports, with skiing and mountain biking being some of his favorites. This has to lead to him becoming friends with the reaper Mortis Theodore Kidd, with the two often going mountain biking together. Stephen is a notable car fan and quite good at driving, hanging out with Big Z of the Multiverse Patrol. Cooking is another forte of Stephen’s and he makes some of the meanest hamburgers this side of the Cosmos for The Reality Walkers, and is currently branching out into other foods and meals. And while Stephen was not the best singer back in his home universe, he has improved since then, as shown in the vocals he provides to Barry. In regards to his magic, Stephen was actually quite the scholar in his original universe, and currently practices alchemy. He also seems to have potential for aura magic, focusing on water-based spells mixed with his signature brand of improvised martial arts.

Stephen was present for The ACF-100 incident of Universe-23 to keep an eye on things, as both The Reality Walkers and Multiverse Patrol were gravely concerned about The Dead God and the ensuing conflicts. He also wanted to see Ignatius’ home universe… and suffice it to say he quickly gained vague context as to why Ignatius fell into the time rift in the first place. Seeing the rampage of Moloch, the rage of Bezaliel, the brutality of The Xanthous King, and the tenacity of Raisa Frankenstein gave Stephen nightmares for months, and made him realize how good he had back in his home universe, despite the entropy he had experienced. He would never undo the meeting with The Zombie God, but at the same time the thought of what-if does keep him up at night sometimes.

Ignatius “Infinity” Darren Ford

Ignatius is a liaison for The ULTRAMagic Guild and is a little infamous for pursuing The Vermilion King across the Cosmos. Having fallen into the time rift through instability in his original universe, Ignatius had discovered what the king was planning to do in Lost Carcosa in service of his plans to usurp God. After finally making it out of the time rift with help from Ms. Phantasm, everyone realized Ignatius was out of his league, and he was brought to The Reality Walkers by Ortrun Thorne (who had been recently added to The Arbiters of Droom). The ULTRAMagic Guild had yet to form, The Dark Divers were getting a grasp on IGL, and The Multiverse Patrol were too focused on keeping the multiverse in order. Ortrun felt that The Reality Walkers were relaxed enough to allow Ignatius to learn the magic discipline he needed, which would be bolstered by their adventures – with Ortrun figuring Ignatius could pick up something useful. Ignatius originally wanted to join The Arbiters of Droom as “Ignatius the Infinite,” but this did not pan out as Ignatius wanted to stay with The Reality Walkers. He kept the “Infinite” part as his alias “Infinity,” however.

Ignatius had begun to hone his magic, but there were underlying issues that would have to be addressed in the future, but for the time he had control. In Ignatius’ iteration (Universe-23-1), his parents, Will and Sam, had ULTRAMagic, and this was passed onto their son. Bizarrely Sam did not retain her ULTRAMagic going into the current iteration, and it is believed that it went to Ignatius and combined with his. It is possible that the transition over to the next iteration allowed Sam’s ULTRAMagic to reach out to Infinity to protect him in the Time Rift and send a signal out to Ms. Phantasm. Ignatius’ transition from 3D to 4D to 5D went a lot smoother and easier compared to most, and he also has gravity-based magic that is just like Sam’s Star Magic.

The Time Rift where Ignatius became trapped lies in the gaps of time, the moment between time passing where nothing exists until it is defined by the passage of time. Ms. Phantasm, a Time Phantom, is from this realm. Time Phantoms have the ability to easily maneuver the Time Rift, but lower dimensionals do not. This is how Ignatius became trapped – he had no idea where he was going. It is unclear how Ignatius slipped into the Time Rift, but it is possible it occurred due to both Will and Sam having ULTRAMagic. Another possible explanation is that one of Audoin’s experiments may have slipped back in time and affected Universe-23-1. Recent evidence, however, points to the experiments of Gudrun Holzknecht’s original incarnation in Universe-23-1. Her experiments were chaotic and mad, and easily created instability in the universe. Ignatius is conflicted on this notion, in both implication and blame. While Gudrun’s mad science may have indeed shot him and his brother, Schwarzes Biest, into parts of reality they should not have been, at the same time it led to a lot of great things happening.

Ignatius became a natural with The Reality Walkers, which is why he stayed with them for so long after the battles with The Vermilion King, despite Ortrun and Ealdhelm advising him that he eventually needed to go see The ULTRAMagic Guild. Part of his stubbornness was Stephen, as he had grown attached to him given that Stephen had mentored him, and helped him learn the things he needed to survive out in the Cosmos and fight back against The Vermilion King. Eventually Stephen would have to put his foot down and contact The ULTRAMagic Guild, as Ignatius started losing control of his magic. Even with the help of an ink devil keeping Ignatius focused on necromancy named Inkblot Fischer, things still got out of hand and the boy needed professional help. Stephen would call on The ULTRAMagic Guild, and they would send Ludwig Leichenberg, who would take Ignatius to David Livesey for proper training. Ignatius would gravitate towards Ludwig as an older brother he never had – and while it would take a little bit of getting used to David, Ignatius would come to respect him as a second mentor figure.

The Red Man

The Red Man, a memetic narrative wildcard entity, serves as a liaison for The League, and was requested by The Abyss God for his talents and powers. The Red Man was actually a bit skeptical at first, given the origins of The Abyss God, but Ignatius and Animus Sicarius were able to convince him to join. In time The Red Man grew to adore The Reality Walkers, which helped to motivate his desire to travel from narrative to narrative to see all that he could, and grow his knowledge with the vast wealth of ideas filling the Cosmos. Likewise it would not be a party without The Red Man according to Stephen. Notably The Red Man being a part of The Reality Walkers helps The League as a whole keep an eye on The Dead God, given that he is good friends with The Red Man and tags along on his adventures.

Huh? What? Hey, I was just starting to fall asleep… You want me to comment since it’s been a while? (yawns) Okay… Hey guys, Dead God here… Um, I guess I can say that some people have questioned why I go on adventures with The Red Man if I am so high up dimensionally and… uh, what, do you think I’m omnipotent or something? I don’t think there’s a single omnipotent entity out there, and The Wonderful Gentleman agrees with me. Plus it’s really hard to peer into your level of reality – like, it’s like trying to stare into a giant swimming pool. You’d arguably have to jump in, and even then it’s still a bit hard to see in there (yawns). Alright, I’m going to bed. Goodnight, everyone.

The Red Man’s tenure with The Reality Walkers has mostly been without friction given his respectful nature, and there is a lack of incidents surrounding him. The only notable incident is when he tried to enter the narrative of a novel that was found in Darla’s home layer of The Commercialverse. He brought back the book The First and Last Expedition of The Dark Warrior, a cosmic horror novel that detailed the adventure of knight from the far flung future where existence had become so warped due to entropy that it had circled back around to having some semblance of order through its extreme entropy. The issue with The Red Man bringing this novel back with him (as he had come to utterly adore it) was that he had made himself a character in the book, leading to the realm of the book appearing outside The Cosmos proper next to The Requiem Cosmos.

The main character of the book, Sir Bartholomeus Servaas Dethtonn, also sought out The Red Man and claimed that The Lost Shadow God and The Lost Hunger God were responsible for the state of his realm. While The Lost Shadow God was understandable, the biggest concern was The Lost Hunger God, which implied he had expanded his influence in The Void Era. Bartholomeus would go on to join The Dark Divers Guild, as some of their members felt his realm was experiencing IGL, and were researching how The Lost Era can intersect with IGL. While The Red Man was told to be careful next time, he was commended for his find, and it allowed The Amazing Nosmirc to cash in another favor with Zarthar-Garthar–The Iron Singularity.

Animus Sicarius

Animus serves as a liaison for The Dark Divers Guild and Raziel’s Fellowship, who was headhunted by Stephen at the behest of Madame Vanderlei for his skills, expertise, and insight. He was also skeptical at first, but eventually agreed given how friendly and welcoming the Reality Walkers were. Animus’ ability to walk around reality was perfect for the guild, and he has been able to solve some of their more tricky cases. Animus’ void patron, The Lost Zell God, was also welcomed in, especially considering Madame Vanderlei wanted more of Raziel’s Fellowship in The Reality Walkers so she could learn more about them. Animus’ bodyguard of sorts, The Monstrosity God, was also of concern given how chaotic he was.

Animus has been able to gain a lot of insight into issues Raziel and Prometheus were interested in back in The Lost Era, but it also raised more questions than it answered for Animus. Notably he has been asking Raziel how the archangel has been able to relay information to Prometheus despite the titan not being able to return to The Void Era, with Raziel always giving vague, unclear answers that seem to only make sense to the Lord of Secrets at first. Animus also reports back to the Deep Specter Grimm Clara, keeping her posted on what goes on out in the Cosmos. Parts of Clara’s group seem to be interested in potentially joining The Reality Walkers, albeit Madame Vanderlei is hesitant to let some of the more infamous patrons of Clara’s bar in given their history.

Darla–The Alkainting Daughter

Darla joined after discovering how bad Surtr’s plan for The Void Era was and realized she could help the Reality Walkers investigate certain anomalies given her escapades with The Zombie God. The Reality Walkers were able to get Darla to behave herself, and during the mission where Will-23 and Valentin Karppinen ventured into The Abyssal Dungeon to look for The Xanthous King, she was working on a director’s cut of the corrupted BREAKING…, striving to turn it into a proper film. The extreme scares were toned down, the maddened onlookers and Zombie God’s original form were edited out, and she added proper foreshadowing to make The Zombie God fit in better. The Xanthous King would also lend his help, suggesting some edits that really made the zombie even scarier in a fun way.

Darla would eventually show this film to some of The Reality Walkers and they loved it, noting that Darla has a real knack for filmmaking when she sets her mind to it – her strength being that she is willing to entertain crazy ideas and make them work. Some of the coolest moments were flashes of the zombie staring at the camera, brief cuts of the zombie getting into position, the silent jumpscares of the zombie appearing being improved, the foreshadowing that was added, the moments that were the suggestion of The Xanthous King, and the credits being made scarier – The train is implied to have derailed with noises that fade into hollowing wind, which further give way to rumbling as a darkened zombie fades into view, remaining faint enough to be just out of view with her piercing eyes staring into the viewer’s soul as a wicked grin gradually stretches across her face. Darla also added distortions to all of the legal/FBI warnings to really mess with people.

Darla seems to have generally calmed down and is able to focus better now that she’s a part of The Reality Walkers. This has also brought The Xanthous King into the fold, and The Alkainting God is proud of her daughter for joining the guild. With help from Madame Vanderlei she is beginning to properly understand her abilities, and her bad habits are being brought under control. As long as Darla can behave herself, The MVP is okay with her working with The Reality Walkers. This also seems to be forcing The Zombie God to behave herself… for the most part.

Ronnga–Goddess of The Forgotten Sun

Ronnga is a lost deity from a religion she cannot remember, hailing from the lost Universe-ZZ9XL. From what can be discerned, her original worshippers seemed to be a mesoamerican civilization similar to the Incas that was lost to a temporal anomaly sometime before her universe became lost to premature IGL. Her job seemed to be keeping the “forgotten sun” at bay so the new sun could shine its light on the Earth and prevent the baleful light of The Forgotten Sun from rendering the Earth lifeless. To keep Ronnga fed and fit, a sacrifice consisting of a portion of the monthly harvest would be presented to her, where she would eat her fill and go on to battle The Forgotten Sun, of whom she was the daughter of. Those who prepared a meal with the offerings were granted good fortune if she liked it, and bad fortune if it was not prepared right. It is believed The Forgotten Sun may have been trying to join The Eternal Order, but messed up and condemned Universe-ZZ9XL to be lost to IGL.

Ronnga has been working with The Reality Walkers and The Dark Divers to salvage any trace of her old universe she can. She knows parts of it are still out there as she keeps receiving offerings from out of nowhere. Furthermore her name is lost, with the only surviving version being the angelicized version – to her that says someone must be out there still revering or studying her. Of course there comes a great risk in the form of her mythology and legends being unknown. The fact that she cannot remember her origin presents a great danger if she, or her fellow deities, had faced off against truly menacing foes. Many new to this issue will handwave any concern, stating that The Reality Walkers can just have The Abyss God take care of things, but this is a gross oversimplification of an incredibly complex and sensitive issue. Gods and similar entities are not something to be trifled with, even if entities like The Abyss Gods are in the upper echelons of the dimensions that the Cosmos can support.

Ronnga joined Stephen’s squad for her strength and overall good nature. She is rough and tough, but also very sweet and caring, indicating that her old worship may have put emphasis on female deities, or at least respected both genders. Her inherently powerful nature is interesting as it indicates an Earth that may have been more female-centric while retaining masculine qualities. Ronnga states that the females were the powerhouses while the men were the scholars who contemplated the stars with dialogue and discourse. There are strong implications that Universe-17 may have been connected to Universe-ZZ9XL on a fundamental level, being the “masculine counterpart.” Ronnga seems to recognize the deities there, and their roles are inverted based on what Ronnga has described of her old universe.

Mitchell “Mitch” O’Connor

Mitch is a liaison for The ACF and an escapee from Universe-X090X. He is notable for being a man who exists in perpetuity. While not a higher dimensional, he will always return when he is killed, walking into the room like nothing had happened. This is bizarre for a non-higher dimensional entity, which is why he is studied. When Schwarzes returned as a 7D dark angel, Mitch used the chaos to escape with a portal creator into The Unlight, and then to the nearest universe that was safe. This resulted in him ending up in Universe-23. He would be taken in by The ACF of Universe-23 and be given the designation of ACF-136. The corruption of the X090X ACF was not just on Schwarzes’ end, as Mitchell experienced his end sink into degeneracy and corruption – taking bribes, acting like corrupt police rather than protectors, engaging in hedonistic debauchery… Mitch knew he had to get out, but was not sure how at the time.

Mitch is concerned about the Cosmos and the ongoing conflicts, as he feels he has the most to lose. He cannot die, but that will not mean anything if he returns and everything has been ruined. Furthermore, if The Lost Darkness God and Surtr have their way, he will have nothing to return to. Given this concern, Mitch also acts as a liaison for other Anomaly Containment Foundations across the Cosmos. Mitch is good friends with William Ford II and Antares Briggs of The Liger Brigade, as he claims that their counterparts were out on the front lines trying to fix everything in Universe-X090X. Mitch hopes that The Madman of Old can fix his old universe so he can go home and see his friends again. He is certain the two soldiers along with The Liger Brigade of his universe are still trying to fix things.

What are some things The Reality Walkers address or look into?/Past incidents

The Dead Body Phenomenon

Occasionally universes will exist with specific people or characters being dead – laying on the ground lifeless, pale, and stiff… yet the universe acts like they are alive, and these individuals still manage to perform activities when people are not looking. The best explanation for this issue is that the person in question was meant to die in that timeline, but something on a higher dimensional level prevented the event from finalizing, resulting in the individual existing in a sort of superposition of life and death. This phenomenon happens frequently in what are known as “Contrarian Timelines,” where an individual performs an action that goes against their best interest because the opposite event happened in another timeline. It is possible that if a person was meant to survive despite existing in a Contrarian Timeline, their importance may override their destined death.

An example of an individual suffering from the Dead Body Phenomenon is William Ford II of Universe-4T99X. In this universe Will was struck by a car before he could propose to his fiancee, Samantha, but everything played out as it should regardless. Will-4T99X even had a pair of twins with Sam. The Dante and Vergil of this universe are currently 10 years old, and seem to notice that their father is dead – being able to briefly perceive this anomaly when they grow tired or exhausted. They also note that they now notice that their father behaves oddly, making odd movements and speaking in weird cadences when they do not see him as a dead body. Will-4T99X, through his magic somehow, made it to Inferno-23 and to the Tah Family (his true family in Inferno across the Multiverse) with the hopes that they could resurrect him, albeit he drifts around too much and they need him to stay still. The Goolubber God has been wanting to study Will-4T99X, as she has seen this phenomenon in The Commercialverse, and wonders if her expertise can help solve the mystery.

Many who live with a “dead body” either do not notice the elephant in the room, or feel an incredible amount of devotion to them, going out of their way to protect them to a point where they refuse to notice that the person in question is dead. Rare insight into what these individuals go through reveals that they exist in a sort of purgatory and are simultaneously able and unable to affect the world around them. Will-499TX seems to be spiritually trapped in a realm of fog and clouds, with everything he interacts with being made of smoke. And it is possible to resurrect these individuals, as Vlastimir Dracul of Universe-XZ9 is one such case, and has volunteered his knowledge of the experience. On an ending note, Will-4T99X is not to be confused with Will-49XX, who takes the form of a nanite swarm manifesting as a mass of silver goo. He is interested in the phenomenon regardless, and has expressed interest in joining The Reality Walkers.

The Dead Body Phenomenon has a wide variety of theories, ranging from universes that have malfunctioned to universes that have drifted too close to The Universe Graveyard, but there is no concrete theory yet. There is also suspicion that Karnage Dethgrave/Ultinn-Lacksus could be to blame for a lot of the contributing instability – a bold accusation, but also one that makes way too much sense given the trouble that rogue has caused. Audoin Dethbrand’s experiments have also been confirmed to cause The Dead Body Phenomenon. Typically The Multiverse Patrol does not look into this phenomenon unless it becomes a multiversal threat. While concerning, the issue is usually not regarded as dangerous, and perfectly suits the kind of work The Reality Walkers perform.

The Mimic Parents Phenomenon

This phenomenon describes instances where children will have mimics for parents, but the “human” becomes the “mimic,” and the true mimics will go out of their way to rescue their children or inject themselves into the family as a “twin” of the “human parent.” The mimic is the true parent of the child, while the child is completely human or whatever species they are by default. This is not to be confused or conflated with child mimics, as that is a separate phenomenon not rooted in any form of reality anomaly. In a mimic parent situation, what would have been a normal human parent and a mimic taking their place have switched roles on a cosmic level. There was a great deal of discourse in The Reality Walkers contesting the status of this phenomenon as something anomalous, with some arguing it was not possible, and that the children were mimics too. Continued research led to this being classified as a proper phenomenon, however.

The mimics seem to be perceptive of multiple planes of reality, both the corporeal and the incorporeal. This has opened up many ideas for the cause of the phenomenon, centering around glitches in reality caused by The Universe Graveyard, IGL, Audoin Dethbrand, and general anomalies in reality. Many mimics report feeling uneasy when these topics are brought up, giving credence to them as causes. In regards to the behavior of these mimics, typically when the universe in question replaces the parent with a mimic, the mimic will go into “rescue mode.” When the universe adds a mimic, they will go into “twin mode.” Exposure to specific eldritch knowledge can help determine the mode. Morality and the ethics of the mimic is entirely dependent on their abilities, biology (spiritual and physical), background, origin, and upbringing – they are neither inherently good or evil. Their general biology is also dependent on the universe and its circumstances.

The Dead Universe Phenomenon

Universes forming with the proper conditions for life to exist are fairly rare in the grand schemes of things. While there are an uncountable amount of inhabitable universes, there are even more universes that are completely uninhabitable. For every universe that successfully forms, there are 10 universes that fail. These universes tend to be on a spectrum in regards to their traits and conditions. Typically Dead universes display the following types of traits and conditions: No life, improper physics, failed physics, and/or incompatible physics. The throughline that classifies these universes as “dead” is a lack of conventional life. The types display the following behavior:
  • No life is self-explanatory, meaning that they have no form of life – be it conventional or non-conventional life. Inhabitants who come in after discovery do not count towards this designation. The reason for the absence of life can vary, or the universe could be supportive of life yet not have any form of life.
  • Improper Physics indicates that physics are not functioning correctly, leading to conditions that do not allow for life to form. These physics are working, it is just that they are not working how they should. These can further fail, turning the universe into a Failed Physics universe.
  • Failed Physics indicates that physics stopped working in some capacity. These universes always become inhospitable and are generally written off as useless as nothing forms or decays within them. Failed Physics universes rarely last long, dispersing throughout the multiverse only to be absorbed into other forming universes.
  • Incompatible Physics indicate universes that form with incompatible physics, not to be confused with Improper Physics or Failed Physics. Unlike Improper Physics, Incompatible Physics requires life that is not destined to form in that universe.

Interestingly these universes can allow for unique materials and elements to form. It is rare for them to be useful for any kind of manufacturing or industrialization, but are almost always valuable for scientists and alchemists. And despite the designations and classifications, it is possible for “life” to pop up in these universes. This does not change the designation of these universes, as any form of life that develops when it is not supposed to is deemed anomalous and needs to be investigated with haste. The Reality Walkers will often go to The Dark Divers Guild to make sure they are not dealing with an IGL universe that somehow managed to escape into the Cosmos proper, as there have been a few instances where Dead Universes have been confused for IGL universes, and vice-versa. Dead Universes can also be fixed and/or made inhabitable if the issues of that universe are addressed. This is ultimately up to the upper echelons of The Time Watchers as higher dimensional primordials and gods such as The Madman of Old and The Construction God are required to fix Dead Universes that are deemed salvageable. Typically proper life appears once these fixes are done, and they are often given to universes who had their original universe collapse.

An interesting example of anomalous life appearing in a Dead Universe are The Dredgemongers of Dead-Universe-XDXL7. In this universe, physics were believed to be 0.01% stronger than what they should have been, leading to a seemingly uninhabitable universe whose forces were either too strong or burnt out immediately. Regardless, unique conditions arose that allowed The Dredgemongers to come into existence. These strange beings manifested as golem-like zombies who apparently were training and preparing to embark into the multiverse to join the fight against The Eternal Order. Having formed alone in their universe, The Dredgemongers looked beyond the malformed stars, and one amongst them known as “The Dredge Lord” was able to peer ever further past the veil, well beyond the Eldritch Barrier to discover the ongoing war between The League and The Lost Darkness God. His stories about the battles of the war that he had gleaned through his meditation enraptured his fellow Dredgemongers with awe and wonder.

Despite the unique elements and forces of their home universe, The Dredgemongers can exist in standard universes and outside of their universe. Their biology seems to have adapted to extreme environments and can further adapt to any environment they come across. Currently they reside in The Abyss Dungeon given that they are most comfortable there. A fair amount also live in The Dark Void, as conditions there are also ideal for them. Dredgemongers are also capable of magic, but this magic is unique as it calls upon the Primordial Darkness to replicate standard magic. This magic always has the traits of darkness and gravity, and these merge with the classical elements to create unique elements. This magic is impossible to learn for standard life, but those with ULTRAMagic can learn it with patience.

The Dredgemongers revere God as “The Father of Chaos,” Chaos in this context indicating the conditions of their original universe. They believe that God was unable to get to their universe to fix it, so he tasked them with learning how to handle it themselves and eventually leave their universe to help the Cosmos proper resolve the issues they deal with. The Dredge Lord also claims that God himself told him to take up his staff and join the fight against those who would dare usurp the Cosmos. Whether or not this was actually God is up for debate, but the message was ultimately noble, and The Dredge Lord would not abandon his mission. Furthermore it is believed that there may have potentially been voidcallers, as some Dredgemongers who were speaking to what they said were “gods.”

It should be noted that “Dredgemonger” is an exonym, but came to be accepted by The Dredgemongers. The name comes from the fact that they dug through the depths of their universe to look for usable materials and elements in order to go about their daily lives. The means for them to prosper and thrive were there, they just needed to dig for them. Given that they apply this skillset to other realms and universes as a means of helping out, the “monger” part just stuck. Dredgemongers are invaluable to The Dark Divers, Reality Walkers, and The Multiverse Patrol given that they can venture into hazardous universes and realms, and have been shown to be highly resistant to IGL. Dredgemongers will also volunteer their services to struggling civilizations across the Cosmos, able to help them thrive and/or heal from strife.

The Were-singularity Incident

The discovery of Tenebrae Vellani, a notable member of The Reality Walkers, was quite the incident, given that he was unprecedented and being pursued by Valdemaras Dykstra. Following the disaster at the Tower of Babel, Valdemaras was attempting to redeem himself to The Eternal Order and was looking for things that could help revive The Decay God. Valdemaras had been slowly getting away from the teachings of The Rotting God, realigning with the teachings of The Decay God. This led to him seeking a means to understand the cycle of creation and destruction, and Valdemaras had discovered Tenebrae, who he felt could teach him about Creation and Destruction. Despite Valdemaras being wanted by the MVP, they were more curious to see why he was not being as aggressive, and were further asked by Volf Blitz to let The Reality Walkers to handle the rat and his little mini adventure. Despite this move drawing the ire of some of the more professional members of The MVP, others were willing to sit back and study the situation.

Valdemaras would pursue Tenebrae to The Dark Void where they would be found by The Dark Divers Guild and confronted by Stephen, Animus, and Ronnga from The Reality Walkers. The three managed to chase Valdemaras off and turned their attention to Tenebrae. Heading over to The Dark Divers Guild, the three would interview Tenebrae and he seemed normal at first, barring the fact that the Dark Divers were not sure where Tenebrae was from. It sounded like he was from an IGL universe, but they could not immediately identify it. Regardless, Stephen and company would take Tenebrae back to The Reality Walkers Guild to look after him. The only issue was that some of the stars of Aqua World looked like they were dimming each night. It was quite the mystery until they realized something odd: Tenebrae was secretly vanishing every now and then after everyone went to sleep.

Stephen stayed up one night to discreetly keep an eye on Tenebrae, but dozed off the first time around… and even then he was a bit distracted. He had enough evidence to suspect Tenebrae, but Tenebrae handwaved the suspicion. The next night Stephen would not doze off and would notice a strange sight: Tenebrae had turned into a black hole and teleported out into Unlight space. Stephen then gathered some of his fellow guildmates and followed Tenebrae with help from Animus. Tenebrae was a little embarrassed upon being found out, stating it was just a condition, and was legitimately worried he was going to be kicked out. Madame Vanderlei insisted he stay, and agreed to take care of him given that he seemed to be an orphan. She also wanted to study him given how unique and bizarre he was, and she figured she could help hone his powers with the assistance of The Abyss God, Quasar Sagan, and Ulrich Sagan–The Discordant God of Gravity. Notably Quasar has made great progress in helping Tenebrae understand his condition… albeit giving Quasar habits his father would prefer his son not have, such as magic siphoning.

Other notable members of The Reality Walkers

Edwin Nolan Darnell

A twin-type mimic parent from Universe-30CX and twin to Edward Norbert Darnell, Edwin’s universe had drifted too close to one of Audoin’s experiments, causing weather on his Earth to become extreme. Edwin’s Earth would have brutal winters and rainy summers non stop, forcing his family to continuously repair their house, which was constantly sinking and suffering from ice dams. This extreme weather phenomenon sparked a civil war in America, leading to a World War III their Extinction Order had not planned for, causing The Extinction Order to declare a retaliatory war on Earth. This was actually starting to attract the attention of The League proper, and was a little bit before Blood-Wraith Raynot, Schwarzes, and Tiberius Skull founded the modern ULTRAMagic Guild. Audoin’s experiments have been known to go backwards in time and affect universes before he became the monster he is now.

Edwin, amongst others with knowledge of alternate universes, set out to find help. Edwin got to The Reality Walkers first, who escalated this issue to The Madman of Old given Audoin’s involvement. The Madman would contact The Lost Weather God, and they were able to fix the issue. The League handled The Extinction Order and were able to get rid of them. Given Edwin’s initiative, he was welcomed into The Reality Walkers, and would become a member of Ignatius and Stephen’s squad. Edwin was a fantastic shape shifter, being able blend in to gather intel and information with ease. Edwin’s transformations were not perfect, but the faults are only noticeable if one were to really focus on him. Edwin notably loves to bring his family to visit The Reality Walkers’ base of operations, and his sons are always welcomed with open arms. His boys, Gilbert and Elliot, seem to be expressing interest in joining The Reality Walkers.

Silver Lyndon

A Dredgemonger who is a member of Stephen’s squad, he joined The Reality Walkers because he wanted to explore the Cosmos and see what was beyond his malformed universe. He was blessed by The Dredge Lord, and was given great encouragement by his people. Silver was a bit sloppy and reckless when he first joined, but Stephen’s general cool dude attitude and dorky nature allowed Silver to relax and ease up – Silver’s problem being that he was trying way too hard to impress The Reality Walkers given that his people only initially knew the chaos of their home universe. Silver was special amongst his people given that he was starry-eyed and knew there was something better beyond the void of their home universe. The Dredge Lord greatly appreciated this, given that it reminded him of his youth. This is what helped get him into The Reality Walkers, as Madame Vanderlei could see potential in the boy. Naturally Silver gets along reasonably well with his squad, but his optimism warrants the critical eye of his peers at times.

Silver is well-versed in Gravity-fire magic, a special fire that excites gravitational particles to push or pull, which allows for the creation or reduction of friction, creating usable fire or coldness – it is widely agreed to be a fusion of pyromancy and cryomancy based in gravity manipulation. Silver’s squad has been able to help him master this through him teaching it to Ignatius – who is also capable of gravity-based magic, making it easy for him to understand it. Silver wants to share his magic with other mages, but is disappointed that only a select few can actually learn it. On the bright side, Ignatius has told him that there are members of The ULTRAMagic Guild that would love to learn it, and if enough of those mages learn it it could potentially lead to a version of the magic that can be learned by mages without ULTRAMagic. Silver is also trying to find out why Ignatius is so powerful, and feels bad for him given how he fell into the Time Rift.

Tenebrae Vellani, the were-singularity

Tenebrae appears to be a human teenager from a universe whose existence is in question, described as being a place where stars and celestial bodies are tangibly alive and actively interact with humans in a way that defies all rules of logic and physics. These celestial bodies actively violate these rules by being lightyears away one moment, and hanging out with humans on their scale the next. It is widely believed that this is an IGL universe, except it had not been found by The Dark Divers Guild yet. Aside from being a denizen of this strange universe, Tenebrae is notable for being a were-singularity. A were-singularity is any entity that can transform into a black hole when the conditions are right, be it a certain state of the Cosmos or when the person has enough energy and focus. People in this state typically prey on stars, but can control their hunger to focus on a particular task with enough discipline. They gain the properties and powers of black holes, with their magic also being influenced. The alarming part is that these specific conditions are unclear as Tenebrae is unsure of them.

Tenebrae joined The Reality Walkers after he was found out and Madame Vanderlei took him in. With help from Quasar and Ulrich to help hone his powers, he is starting to fit in and use his abilities in creative ways. While a hooligan with teenage rowdieness, he is also a kind soul that is willing to help out in the community. He does get irritable when he has not fed on a star, becoming a bit mischievous and disrespectful – He will often pick fights with rabblerousers, requiring his guild mates to intervene whenever he gets up to trouble while out and about. And something interesting about him is that he can sense when other people have “were forms.” While he can pick up on lycanthropy and its variants, he has also sworn he has detected were-pulsars, were-magnetars, and were-gravastars. Research into these oddities has been conducted by Ulrich Sagan and the astronomer teams aboard his space station with help from ENCOM, but not much has been found. The difficulty comes from the fact that these anomalies only really appear in IGL/IGL-adjacent universes. Many think Ulrich is crazy for entertaining this research, but he firmly believes Tenebrae is on to something interesting – impossibility did not stop Mads from beckoning him back in Universe-XT49 after all.

Who are The Multiverse Patrol?

Stationed on the lush, futuristic world of Viridis within the home realm of The Time Watchers, The Multiverse Patrol are the protectors of the Multiverse and beyond, making sure order and balance are maintained. Their job is to make sure universes and travelers behave themselves and do not attempt to invade, subvert, or subjugate other universes. This mission is important for the survival of the Cosmos, as The MVP maintains the importance of The Eldritch Barrier – a concept that describes the difficulty of traveling to other universes, and how it is necessary for most to believe that there is no such thing as alternate universes. Many cannot handle the knowledge that other universes exist, and ignorance must be maintained, lest the wrong individual enter the wrong universe and cause havoc for the entire Cosmos.

The Multiverse Patrol are well trained and numerous, with access to the most advanced technology and knowledge on their side to make sure order is maintained. They are the best of the best and the brightest of the brightest, with an unwavering desire to protect God’s creation from evil and the irreverent. The Multiverse Patrol is the utmost authority in multiverse politics and behavior, and seeks to spread this knowledge to others in the know. Furthermore, they are always looking for new recruits and able-bodied individuals who are willing to confront those who would endanger the multiverse. It is a difficult and grueling job at times, but The Chronomaton of Old is looking for those who are tough, commanding, authoritative, unyielding, and with grit in their soul that will help keep those unaware of the thankless conflicts behind the scenes safe and comfortable in their beds each night. The mission of the MVP is that of peacekeeping and preservation, not of conquest, and they will never actively destroy a universe in the name of their mission.

Notable Members of The Multiverse Patrol

The Chronomaton of Old

Founder of the Multiverse Patrol, The Chronomaton is a member of The League of Primordials (consisting of, but not limited to primordials such as The Madman, Automaton, Evangelist, Watchman, Hunger, Dragon, Beast, and Golem). Originally a student of Father Time, The Chronomaton struck out on his own and decided his duty following the Epoch was to keep the newly solidifying multiverse (and beyond) safe and stable. The Chronomaton is incredibly powerful, having mastery over time second only to Father Time himself. Having also become a member of the Time Watchers, he founded the MVP as a means of having boots on the ground for physical and temporal conflicts that could potentially affect the flow of time.

The Chronomaton is always skeptical thanks to his vast knowledge of how time works, which allows for the MVP to be efficient with order enforcement, but also causes him to be critical of organizations that are not his own or a part of The Time Watchers. The ULTRAMagic Guild is a good example, as Zal-Rint’s involvement with the modern guild was on his orders. The Chronomaton is also critical of The Reality Walkers given the circumstances surrounding The Abyss God. The Chronomaton is not a complete stickler, as he does recognize the usefulness of The League, and is concerned for The ULTRAMagic Guild – it is why he is so harsh towards them. The Chronomaton knows what they are all dealing with, and he does not want the mages getting hurt. This is partially because they could make things worse, but mainly because they have spirit, and that is something he appreciates in an ignorant Cosmos where the majority of lower dimensionals are inclined towards ignorance, nihilism, and authoritarianism.

Sir Robrecht Tankred De Klerk

Originally The Knight of Old and a good friend of Lloyd Ter Avest, Sir Robrecht was a mighty protector of the innocent who led the charge against anyone who dared attempt to conquer the burgeoning Cosmos. He is the rival of a fellow MVP officer, Big Z – critical of his wildcard nature. He is also skeptical of The Reality Walkers given their unconventional recruits and methods. Sir Robrecht is further critical of The ULTRAMagic Guild, and always has been – viewing them as ruffians that are trifling with dangerous magic. In truth, Sir Robrecht is not against The ULTRAMagic Guild or The Reality Walkers, just incredibly concerned for them and always seeking to take control so he can implement reform, protections, rules, and guardrails. Like the Chronomaton of Old, Sir Robrecht wishes to keep The ULTRAMagic Guild safe – but he is known for being a little more harsh and rash in his approach, having never been able to cherish his inner child due to the conflicts of the Epoch.

When no one is looking… or at least when he thinks no one is looking, Sir Robrecht likes to watch animated movies, play video games, and sort through his vast collection of trading cards. He is not immature, and does all of this with professionalism gearing towards having fun. He is skilled at the games he plays, loves to analyze and critique films, and has the most immaculately sorted card collection around. Sir Robrecht’s sternness stems from his desire to protect people by instilling his knowledge and virtues into them. While harsh, he is always constructive at the end of the day, and any aggressiveness can be observed with the conclusion that Sir Robrecht knows what is going on and has a solution. Sir Robrecht remains professional, however, and will restrain his commanding presence in order to speak to his elders or children. He is not daft and understands his social graces, even if he fails at this sometimes.

Sir Robrecht was the uncle of Nechtan Sloan, the original ULTRAMagic Knight, and was also a good friend of Francis Firehardt, ULTRAMagic Executor. Nechtan and Fracnis were Sir Robrecht’s eyes and ears to make sure The ULTRAMagic Guild of the Epoch was working like a well-oiled machine. This led to members like Mind-Wraith Caden occasionally yanking their chains and messing with the three. It should be noted that Sir Robrecht’s original assistant, The Butler of Old, had to consistently rein in his criticism of the original ULTRAMagic Guild. Despite many of the members thinking The Knight of Old was a massive stick in the mud, The ULTRAMagic Guild greatly respected him, and revered his skill and ability to command even the most chaotic of situations. Tiberius Skull drew inspiration from this, leading to his solid leadership of The second founding of The ULTRAMagic Guild.

Sir Robrecht is incredibly powerful with his sword-based gunnrmancy, and can easily take down opponents without even having to unsheath his sword. He serves as the lead general of Viridis’ military, and Sir Robrecht will also defend The ULTRAMagic Guild from the likes of private interests and bureaucracy, as there are many organizations and groups throughout the Cosmos who want the guild investigated, regulated, and/or shut down. A major reason the guild never sees these issues is because Sir Robrecht shuts these issues down before they can reach the guild. Still, that does not stop some from slipping through the cracks sometimes, and Sir Robrecht will always be there to defend The League and its member organizations regardless. If anyone is going to rein in The League as a whole, it is going to be the Multiverse Patrol.

Big Z

A special agent and eccentric troublemaker of the MVP known for diving headfirst into sensitive situations, but getting results regardless. Big Z is known for being a gentle critic of The Reality Walkers, concerned for the danger they put themselves in. Unlike Sir Robrecht, Big Z sees The ULTRAMagic Guild as a boon, and is a vocal supporter of them who views them as just what the Cosmos needs. Sir Robrecht often calls Big Z out for his hypocrisy, being critical of The Reality Walkers while also supporting The ULTRAMagic Guild. Of course this only serves to fuel Big Z’s antics, leading to him regularly messing with Sir Robrecht, almost always ending in the two sparring with each other.

Big Z is a Tyrannotitan spirit and a powerful one at that. He is notable for training his animal form to match the feats of his human form. Big Z is hampered by the physical limitations of theropods, but that did not stop him from making up for some of those deficiencies. Big Z is abnormally fast for a giant-class theropod, capable of maintaining a full sprint with minimal strain on his bones. Furthermore he is capable of matching the speeds of supercars through strides and is a master of conserving energy, allowing him to outlast most targets in a chase. Of course this comes with massive danger… for his prey. Big Z has run at full sprints and used his lack of control to crash into his targets. While this does hurt him and he does need to recover afterwards, the results are undeniable when he manages to severely cripple if not eliminate his target.

Big Z hails from Earth-231218, but fell through a rift in space and time right before the Chicxulub impact occurred – this rift was most likely caused by Audoin during the Audoan Wars. He would end up on Viridis and began to learn about what was beyond Earth, his tyrannotitan nature becoming utterly enthralled with the majesty of the Cosmos. He also felt a strong urge to help keep the Cosmos in order. While it took some time to become used to being a human and resisting the urge to go and hunt the animals of Viridis, Big Z found himself in admiration of Sir Robrecht. While Big Z was always anti-authority given his nature as an apex predator, he secretly craved being told what to do, as to him that meant a more structured and productive hunt.

Big Z is a fan of cars. He watches shows for vehicle reviews religiously, obsesses over muscle cars, adores street racing (legal street racing), cannot stop watching anime about racing, shows up to stockcar races whenever he gets the chance, and volunteers at hometown circuits to mentor children and teens who want to get into racing. For Big Z, vehicles are the ultimate blasphemy towards the predator-prey dichotomy… AND THAT IS WHY HE LOVES THEM! They are so brash and shameless, giving both predator and prey a weapon greater than God to use against each other – IT HIS DUTY TO MASTER THE CAR!

Big Z has a racing rival in the form of Shigeko Tsukumo from Universe-23. Shigeko took up racing when cars really started becoming popular in Japan, as something about her ghostly nature compels to race with utmost speed and skill. It could stem from her origin as a ghost and that she may have been intended to become an onryō. Either way, Shigeko has been known to show up on haunted nights when someone is alone in their car. If the moon is full and the roads are clear, Shigeko will appear out of nowhere in her Supra and challenge one to a race. It is considered disrespectful to not accept her challenge, and there is no risk of getting harmed as any crash will result in the driver waking up back at where they started like nothing happened. Big Z likes to race Shigeko in his Oldsmobile, which he has modified with an 8-cylinder engine, effectively turning it into a supercar. Shigeko is such an oddity to Big Z that he has the drive to beat her in a race every time they meet to understand her. This has led to Big Z becoming good friends with the Tsukumo family as Big Z is quite the people person. Shigeko is also a vocal opponent of planned obsolescence cars with integrated surveillance technology, and will force politicians who support these policies and practices into haunted races to humiliate them – Big Z always commends Shigeko of this, despite the justified concern of her family.

Big Z was once on a mission to Universe-15 when he encountered a serial killer on the road who attempted to run people off of the road with his sleeper cab semi truck. Big Z noticed the truck would start following him, and began to play with his opponent – speeding off at blinding speeds only to let his pursuer catch up so he could speed off again, break checking the truck, and even drag racing the truck on straight roads. Sensing the irreverence of his foe, Big Z opened a portal to ELLERP-066 “The King’s Highway” where he would challenge him to a true race – Big Z had the permission of The King’s Chariot to traverse his roads and highways. This race was televised, with Big Z winning and The King’s Chariot sentencing the trucker to traverse his roads until he learned the way of the car. This would lead to the trucker eventually transforming into his truck and becoming a vehicle spirit (the equivalent of animal spirits for The King’s Chariot).

Rochus Delaney

Rochus is a utahraptor spirit and Big Z’s protege, weirdly claiming to hail from the same universe as Tenebrae. Rochus’ origin has always been up in the air, and he seems to have uncanny insight into Tenebrae’s were-singularity form. Rochus further claims that he knows what causes it – “were forms” seemed to be a regular occurrence in their universe, with an inordinate amount of vampires and shape shifters. Animal spirits seemed to be the ones most adept at dealing with the trouble the groups caused, and Rochus crossed paths with Tenebrae on multiple occasions. According to Rochus, Tenebrae was an experiment to harness the power of a black hole, but this caused their universe to destabilize and begin phasing back and forth between IGL space and the Universe Graveyard, which is why no one can find it and why The Dark Divers cannot identify it. Rochus states that the universe will need to stabilize and settle down before it can be found and explored.

Rochus seemed to be aspiring to be a writer at one point, but dropped this hobby in favor of MVP duties. He has not thrown out the stories, but he realized they were not great and he was just doing it for fun. There is also the fact that according to him, his Earth had a very corrupt writing industry that constantly switched hands between tyrants and their self-interests, serving as a vehicle for propaganda for whatever fascist or socialist ideology was the flavor of the month. One minute it was dominated by rich, privileged women who wanted all men exterminated, next it was dominated by extremist politicians who wanted all poor people exterminated, and then it was hijacked by death cults who wanted all of humanity exterminated – the through line being that The Extinction Order was very unstable and chaotic in his universe, and as a simple utahraptor he had grown sick and tired of it left his universe for greener pastures.

Rochus was apparently also labeled as "misogynist" and "blacklisted" from the industry as evidently whatever constituted as the industry at the time had found out about his works, which had tropes that were deemed as “sexist” if one ignored the fact that the books were clearly written by a kid… further ignoring the fact that they were obviously witch hunting indie authors given that his works were never really published in any meaningful capacity, and he had moved on by that point. There was speculation that someone from The Extinction Order from his universe may have also used this as an excuse to hunt him down given that Rochus is a utahraptor spirit, but the general instability of his universe prevents that from occurring. Rochus never cared for these accusations, given that he could easily just go back to being a utahraptor out in the wild and never take on his human form ever again. Thankfully meeting Big Z caused him to realize he should not give a fig about what petty humans thought of him.

Vince–Ar’ton of White and Red

Going under the human name “Vince” for ease of identification for lower dimensionals, this ar’ton was originally an acolyte of The Dreamstalker–Ar’ton of Nightmares who went rogue, but was brought in line by The Dreamstalker. In his arrogance born from the eldritch knowledge granted by the realm of The Dreamstalker, Vince had sought to go and join The Vermilion King back during his ill-fated attempt at conquering the Cosmos, with The Dreamstalker eventually handing him off to The Multiverse Patrol so Vince could repent of his transgressions. Given that he feels that Vince has repented enough, The Dreamstalker has allowed him back into his realm in recent times.

Notably White and Red is a strange affinity for an ar’ton, and it is not clear what it specifically represents. Vince has an idea, but it is too nebulous for lower dimensionals – although he has been able to abstract it to “the essence of white and red,” but states that it goes way beyond that, reaching into esoteric meanings only people on his level can begin to understand. He manifests as an ar’ton with a white metal body filled with pure red fire. In regards to his magic, it is an abstract form of magical energy that seems to correlate with cryomancy and pyromancy in tune with the passing of the seasons, granting him unique spells that invoke the essence of winter and summer.

Vince is assigned to work with The Reality Walkers as a liaison for The Multiverse Patrol. He is a member of Stephen’s squad, and was one of the most concerned for Ignatius when he was attempting to fight The Vermilion King – given his past attempts to join The Vermilion King. While Vince came off as a stiff initially, it was clear that he was concerned for the boy. Following Ignatius’ victory with The Arbiters of Droom against The Vermilion King, Vince has been keeping a close eye on Ignatius to make sure he does not get into further trouble. While Vince is contemplative and reserved, The Reality Walkers do bring out his talkative side, revealing that he is fairly philosophical and a knowledge seeker motivated to discover more about the truths revealed to him by The Dreamstalker. Vince has admitted that his initial arrogance that got him banished was born from the fear he felt from the reality that The Lost Era still existed, and that more threats like The Lost Darkness God and Surtr could emerge at any moment.

Officer Brant Derby Lawson

A bit of a muscle-bound bruiser possessing a caring and empathetic nature, Officer Brant is one of the best officers for the MVP. He was a refugee of the Audoan Wars of Universe-231218 who had managed to escape through a tear in time and space due to Audoin’s disastrous actions in trying to become all powerful. He would end up on Viridis not too long after the founding of The MVP and told them about Audoin. The Chronomaton had foreseen this and assured him everything would be alright. Given that Brant was a rising rookie in his local police force back home, he was immediately recruited into the MVP.

Brant plays hard ball when the chips are down, but also knows when to dial it back. He will happily go buy a toy for a child having to endure a crime, help rescue a cat stuck in a tree, and will rush into a burning building to save someone. His father was a proud firefighter, and his grandfather was a heroic WWII veteran – all of this inspiring Brant to get into law enforcement, as he wanted to do something local, easy, and not as dangerous. Audoin’s reign of terror nearly doused his spirits, but he stayed strong. Something called out to him when the tear opened up, and he saw this as a way to go for help.

Armed with strong and resourceful Earth-magic, Brant prefers to be out in the field with fellow officers, special forces squads, and soldiers. He is proactive, always knowing that something suspicious or anomalous is afoot – owing to the terror of Audoin Dethbrand and the trauma the Audoan Wars inflicted on him. Brant is not going to sit around and cry about it, however – he is going to make sure more Audoin’s do not pop up. His resolve is second to none, but at the same time he does have moments where his strength wanes and he has to take a step back to take a break. Sir Robrecht has to keep reminding him that he is only human at the end of the day. Brant greatly respects Sir Robrecht, but also admires Big Z for his tenacity. He aspires to the grit of Sir Robrecht and the determination of Big Z, frequently going to the two for wisdom and guidance (hilariously to each other’s chagrin).

Investigator Merethe Merete Derricks

A charming and witty investigator who is tasked with speaking with The Reality Walkers when they report a case to the MVP, Merethe hails from Universe-23-42 where her magic was distorted by the Virtual Particle experiments that the universe is famous for. Her magic manipulates virtual particles to influence reality to create whimsical events, such as bullets turning into an explosion of flower petals, flamethrowers shooting confetti, falling boulders becoming fluffy pillows, or iron bars becoming candy canes. This magic is somewhat unpredictable and appears to share traits with the Superposition-based powers of The Reverse Serpent, and Grimm Clara’s Misfortune Magic. Merethe prefers to use her magic to outwit and escape rather than fight. While she chooses to tactically retreat more often than not, Merethe is capable of supporting her squadmates and partners, and she does have some alchemical prowess she can use to defend herself and fight back if need be. She has also been learning soul magic so she can fight more often, at Brant’s behest and Big Z’s encouragement.

Merethe also has an interest in what The Reality Walkers discover, often partnering up with Stephen’s squad. She was quietly attracted to Stephen for a time, but was disappointed when she found he already had a fiancee he was planning to marry once things were fixed with his universe. Merethe also has an assistant by the name of Margitta Patricia Reynaud – serving as her secretary and partner in the field. Margitta is a bit clumsy and self-conscious, but has impressive intuition and often catches things Merethe missed. Margitta also shares Merethe’s interest in what The Reality Walkers discover. Margitta handles processing the reports of Stephen’s squad, and is considered an honorary member of the squad alongside Merethe. She was born on Viridis to a father who was an electrician, and a mother who was an accountant at the MVP headquarters – her mother was able to land her the job of being Merethe’s secretary and assistant.

Merethe and Margitta joined The MVP in order to help the cause of maintaining order, and it is as simple as that. Both had parents who instilled the values of hard work, albeit Merethe’s parents were Virtual Particle scientists who became scattered between dimensions due to a failed experiment. They were still able to take care of her, but things were incredibly awkward considering they manifested as shadowy humanoids that scared most people. Merethe joining The MVP caused the Dark Divers to agree that her universe should be pulled out of IGL space and fixed so it could be placed into The Dark Void. The Madman of Old and Dread God took care of this, and Universe-23-42 was repaired, healing her parents.

What are some things The Multiverse Patrol address or look into?/Past incidents

Assigned Crime

Assigned Crime is a dangerous and repugnant phenomenon appearing in universes across the Cosmos in which a government will “assign crime” to their citizens as a means of facilitating prosecution for the purpose of enslaving and/or exterminating their populace. It has resulted in multiple cross-universe wars and is an ongoing threat to the stability of the multiverse, amongst many others. Assigned Crime seems to be the brain child of Karnage Dethgrave as an attempt to spite universes that merely did not know about him, let alone oppose him. His idea seems to be that if he cannot punish the weaklings for being pathetic and vile in their weakness, then he will make something up to punish them for – and if he has to make something up to punish them for, then clearly they were guilty of being weak and pathetic and deserved to be punished in the first place. Assigned Crime is essentially a self-fulfilling prophecy used to justify oppression and tyranny.

The phenomenon of Assigned Crime does not appear naturally, and is always indicative of Karnage or Audoin Dethbrand’s presence in a universe – be it through actual appearance, influence, or merely being depicted in art or writing. Such extreme measures on their part are why the Old Gods like Threrth take such extreme measures to keep them out of their respective Cosmos – Fundamentally altering how their Cosmos functions is the only known effective way of keeping such parasites out at the moment. Assigned Crime is not crime nor is it pre-crime. It is the act of assigning a crime to an individual when there is no crime committed to facilitate prosecution when there should be none. Assigned Crime is also not to be confused with corruption and crime in which a person of power fakes evidence (Fabricated Crime, essentially). While this is similar to Assigned Crime, corruption is natural and exists regardless of Karnage or Audoin being present. The difference between Fabricated Crime and Assigned Crime is that Assigned Crime has no precedent or justification beyond oppression and/or extermination.

There are two main types of Assigned Crime, with any other types being considered variations of the officially recognized types:
  • Premeditated Assigned Crime: A person in power deliberately targets a specific individual for the purpose of Assigned Crime
  • Indiscriminate Assigned Crime: People are targeted without provocation or selection, and are assigned a crime they did not commit

Assigned Crime Perpetuators (ACPs) are to be executed if they cannot be rehabilitated, as they often hold psychopathic and extremist mentalities and ideologies that go well beyond typical corruption – with a common root cause being already hedonistic and corrupt individuals that had dwindling moral fiber to begin with. Such individuals usually deteriorate into violent earth spirits who seek to kill for the thrill of killing. While Assigned Crime is an anomalous phenomenon, its purpose and motivation can be rooted in the philosophy of evil and understood. While the causes are mutually exclusive, ACPs typically have conditions such as personality disorders, dementia, addiction, and schizophrenia. Interestingly people with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) typically do not become ACPs. Some people with schizophrenia have also been shown to be resistant to the influence of Assigned Crime. While this is by no way a means of fighting back against Assigned Crime, it is an interesting quirk of the human psyche to take note of.

Cross-universe Wars have many causes, but Assigned Crime is rising in frequency relatively speaking. Some universes have the technology to allow the innocent to escape as refugees, but ACPs will pursue these individuals, even going so far as attempting to assign crime to an entire universe to designate them as targets for extermination. This always prompts an immediate response from the MVP. While the MVP wins every time, this is not without extensive collateral damage to both universes, with the Assigned Crime origin points being moved to The Universe Graveyard if they cannot be fixed. On a cosmic scale these wars are rare, but on a relative scale they are too frequent for comfort. The MVP have also found objective links to Karnage, Audoin Dethbrand, and their cronies in these conflicts.

The attempted werewolf invasion of Universe-0X

During Calamity 0 of Earth-0X, a group of werewolves from another universe attempted to use The MVP homeworld of Viridis as a staging point for an invasion to assist Amramtrong in stopping The Werewolves of America. Hailing from a timeline of powerful vampires, werewolves, and magic, the warband went unnamed and pretended to be refugees that were escaping a group of “hunters” who were after them. They had even managed to begin to fool the MVP officers on duty, and were just about to embark into Universe-0X. Big Z had heard of the arrival and just so happened to be in the receiving station when he recognized the leader of the warband as Theophil Heilfrid Adenauer, hailing from Universe-21HTP – Big Z had been to that universe and immediately knew what was going on. The warband was planning to betray Amramtrong so they could set up a new hunting ground.

Everyone was caught off guard when Big Z turned into his animal form and began roaring at the werewolves, but the alarms were set to red alert immediately regardless. A breach was in progress and the job of the MVP was to prevent the rogue werewolves from entering Universe-0X at all costs. Big Z’s protege, Rochus, was also on alert and joined Big Z in stopping the werewolves. The werewolves of Universe-21HTP were infamous for their arrogance, believing that their indestructible hides made them invincible, which was quickly proven wrong when Big Z picked up one of them in his mouth and gave him a good chomp, shattering its leg and piercing its abdomen and arms. What the werewolves soon realized was that their magic and abilities were disrupted by leaving their universe. Big Z would get into a fist fight with Theophil, breaking Theophil’s arm in the process. Rochus would also leave a massive gash across Theophil’s chest in an attempt to slash at him, but would get tossed back in the process.

Lester Barlow, a notable member of The Granville Trio and underling of Charon Maddox from Universe-23, happened to be present on this day and engaged the werewolves with his signature technomancy mech-walker, Lady Liberty. He noticed that werewolves were staving off aggressive fire from the rotary cannons of Lady Liberty, but he was not going to give up against the werewolf bastards. One of them still had the infamous magical resistance, so Lester focused on this one. The werewolves of Universe-21HTP could only be meaningfully harmed with precious metals, with silver being the most potent ahead of gold, platinum, titanium, lead, and uranium. Lester wanted to make a point that no one was truly invincible, so he focused fire on his target and began hosing it with a torrent of bullets. The wolf held out for a bit up until one of the bullets pierced its hide… and it was all downhill from there. Lester had successfully drained the magic through sheer force of will and killed it. Seeing this struck true fear into Theophil’s heart, making him realize that he was not dealing with rival predators, he was dealing with Man who wielded weapons that could rival Mother Earth. This victory of Lester’s is widely agreed to be what caused Theophil to flee.

Theophil would be the only one to escape as his fellow wolves were either killed or arrested. This put Theophil at large and the MVP began guarding Earth-0X, completely foiling his plans. Currently on the run, Theophil is reported to have gone and joined Audoin and Ultinn-Lacksus. Notably Theophil attempted to return to Universe-21HTP to rally his fellow werewolves to seek vengeance on The Multiverse Patrol and Big Z, but this would end up failing when The Dog God got involved, as Theophil had become a target of the angered god for a myriad of reasons. Theophil wanted to start out by recruiting a werewolf in his universe calling himself the “black shuck,” a strong and arrogant Swedish man descended from vikings who invoked the patronage of Fenrir to save Mother Earth from the humans he believed desecrated and violated her – failing to realize that The Extinction Order were using the werewolves, vampires, and eldritch monstrosities to exterminate humanity. The shuck had even abandoned his old name to embrace the legend of the Black Shuck, greatly dishonoring his ancestors, despite arrogantly assuming they were on his side.

Universe-21HTP is infamous for their vampires believing they were in control of Earth, and wiping out anyone who knew about them or dared question their rule, which made them a prime target for manipulation by The Extinction Order. This became even more extreme with the masses and those who hunted the vampires began ignorantly parroting the arrogance of the vampires. And it goes without saying that the werewolves were not much better. Theophil knew the Black Shuck was a degenerate terrorist despite the Shuck’s pride, but that did not matter. What Theophil needed was violent, extremist rhetoric to whip the werewolves into a frenzy so he could manipulate them – Theophil was once a proud warrior, but the persuasive words of Ultinn-Lacksus had convinced him to forsake his own honor in the name of The Lost Darkness God. He accepted that the only way to get what he wanted was to take advantage of the naivete of the werewolves and dispose of them when they were no longer useful.

Theophil had managed to convince the Shuck to join him and even recruited the majority of his werewolves to his cause, but then The Dog God entered the universe and began to wipe out the werewolves following the blasphemy of The Feral Werewolves in Universe 0X. This was responded to by The Wolf God, the archrival of The Dog God. The Wolf God had noticed that the vampires and eldritch monstrosities were attempting to make their way to The Unlight through Reality Errors unintentionally opened up by Theophil, and had recruited Spiritus Magni Julia, The Neanderthal God, and Jethro Cottonwood to deal with this issue. Notably Vilde Jan Herbertsson from Universe-CCXL9 would get involved given that he seemed to take great exception to the Black Shuck. It is unclear if they are counterparts, but Vilde has pointed out that the Black Shuck is a blasphemer who clashed with the Aesir before, fleeing like a coward when Thor brandished Mjolnir. Vilde had also considered speaking to The League about doing something in regards to Universe-21HTP, along the lines of setting up a foothold there.

The ensuing battle that erupted saw the majority of werewolves wiped out, Theophil retreating like the coward he had devolved into, and the Black Shuck invoking Fenrir to fight back against The Dog God. This version of Fenrir was alarmingly weak compared to most other counterparts, leading to The Dog God killing both Fenrir and the Black Shuck. The Dog God would leave to chase after Theophil, allowing The Wolf God’s team to clean up the mess. Unfortunately this would lead to Universe-21HTP being quarantined, however. The MVP had a disaster on their hands and could not let the issues of Universe-21HTP spill out into the rest of the Cosmos. Universe-21HTP had seen too much, but thankfully the MVP could maintain the quarantine without the general masses being wise to what was going on given that the hunts for the vampires, werewolves, and eldritch monstrosities were kept secret from humanity.

President Afonya attempts to arrest and execute The Madman of Old

Russian president Afonya Ignat Fyodorov, often referred to as the “Russian Audoin Dethbrand,” once attempted to arrest and execute The Madman Of Old. Hailing from Universe-RU89, Afonya was a tyrannical leader that had gained a great deal of magical power through sheer dumb luck after a coven of witches attempted to curse him when Russian soldiers carpet bombed their secret lodge. It is widely believed one of Audoin’s experiments drifted forward in time to this universe and corrupted the curse, allowing Afonya to gain an inordinate amount of power. While not becoming as powerful as Audoin, Afonya alarmingly became 6th dimensional. Afonya went on to be an even more brutal tyrant that declared all of humanity an enemy of the state and began systematically implementing oppressive laws in Russia that slowly made it impossible for citizens to survive, ranging from stripping their basic human rights to making buying basic necessities punishable by death. With his country dying, Afonya used this as an excuse to start launching nuclear warheads at other countries, declaring them all as foreign agents and terrorists who sought to destroy Russia, which triggered World War III. Afonya seemed to be co-opting Extinction Order rhetoric, claiming that humanity needed to be brought down to a court of specifically 1,678,533 million in order to start a new world order.

Afonya had brought his Earth down to a dangerously low population number of 2,500,000, which dwindled to around 1,000,000 consisting of those in hiding and uncontacted tribes – there was speculation that Afonya was going to blame this failure on the survivors and use that as a means to get rid of them, of which he would create “new people” to blame and execute for his failures in a self-destructive overdrive that would have seen him deteriorate into mindless prima materia. Afonya was beginning to understand higher dimensions through brute force, leading to him to become 8D to find the rest of what he deemed traitors, but his extreme magical actions attracted the attention of The Abyssal Lord and The Dredge Lord, as Afonya had intruded into The True Abyss trying to seek out Audoin and Ultinn. Afonya is infamous for praising Karnage Dethgrave as a hero who purged the “weak and treacherous,” despite Karnage never having heard of him – who would not have cared if he had heard of him, and most certainly would have just tried to steal his power.

Afonya is widely agreed to have come into contact with Vance Schilling, Hector Fang, Sebastian Rainer Friedrich III, Judge Bauzenthrau Holten, Theophil Adenauer, Amramtrong, and Vlad IV Dracul (of Universe-23). It should be noted that Sebastian has denied taking any advice or help from Afonya and has sworn to kill him, and Vlad IV actively went out of his way to keep him out of Universe-23. It should be noted that Vlad IV discovered Afonya when the corrupted president attempted to recruit the Russian president of Universe-23 to his cause. Vlad IV and Vladislav Dracul would act quickly to banish the interloper, but would have to assassinate their Russian president, leading to The Mezsdeon to initiate parts of their plans early. This led to a Russia that was partially disconnected from Earth. While one could still travel to it, citizens were only half aware of outsiders, and there seemed to be no government despite society functioning normally.

The Abyssal Lord and Dredge Lord would chase Afonya out of The True Abyss and back to his Earth to battle him. This battle went on for some time before Afonya seemingly found a new target to go after, The Madman of Old. A group of Russian survivors of RU89’s World War III had escaped to Viridis to seek help while the two lords distracted Afonya, but Afonya had managed to sense them and embarked to Viridis to destroy it and kill the traitors. Afonya would make it to Viridis and start causing havoc, having gone insane from a spontaneous surge of power that turned him 8.5D. Viridis was on planet-wide red alert, trying to defeat Afonya and his madness-inducing magic. Animus Sicarius happened to be on Viridis, and something about his Lost Era nature caused Afonya to go into a frenzy and attack him. The Abyssal Lord and Dredge Lord went to defend Animus, but then the unthinkable happened. The Lost Zell God attempted to deal with Afonya, but The Monstrosity God intervened, which caused Afonya to see a surge in power.

The Monstrosity God is known for his scare tactic where he will appear out of nowhere in the distance behind Animus and start running at an aggressor from around a corner without making a sound until he gets close enough. This unfortunately caused Afonya to jump to 9D from his fear infecting his insanity, catching The Monstrosity God and The Lost Zell God off guard. Eventually The Madman of Old and The Chronomaton of Old stepped in to deal with Afonya once and for all. This led to a cessation of Afonya’s aggression, albeit it was not out of concern or empathy. Afonya sought to hold The Madman accountable by tribunal for supposedly aiding the refugees (who were deep within Viridis as per their protection). The Madman laughed in Afonya’s face and happily accepted a civil case, even with a trial by jury… accept the court would be made out of The League of Primordials.

The case was brought before higher dimensional court, with The God Of Logic presiding as judge, The Evangelist of Old was The Madman and The Chronomaton’s lawyer, Afonya arrogantly represented himself, and the jury was the rest of the Primordials from The League of Primordials and higher dimensional members of The League – with those involved in the battle and the refugees serving as witness testimony. Truthfully, The Madman and The Chronomaton could have easily dealt with Afonya, but they wanted to destroy him in spirit before they got rid of him to punish him for his arrogance – This also served as a field test to see how they could handle Audoin Dethbrand in certain matters and fields of battle.

Afonya was found guilty of all charges pressed against him in a landslide victory for The Madman and Chronomaton, and Afonya’s sentence was to be returned to the prima materia, never to be reborn again in The Void Era. His prima materia would be scattered and dispersed throughout the Cosmos proper, and his ill-gotten magic would be sent with the refugees and some of The Dredge Lord’s best men to rebuild Earth-RU89. The Madman would observe the reconstruction and soon Earth-RU89 was back on its feet with its population growing to a healthy 1 billion in no time at all (on a cosmic scale). Notably the uncontacted tribes had begun emerging as they were compelled by their gods and great spirits to heal the Earth, and would join the refugees and Dredgemongers in creating a new, golden age for humanity.

The curious case of Gudrun Holzknecht

Gudrun Holzknecht is an infamous member of The Eternal Order amongst many, and one who has left a trail of scheming and villainy throughout the Cosmos and beyond. A master of deception, mad science, and self-interest, she is actually an incredibly powerful dragon capable of breathing molten gold for fire, can switch between dragon and human form, and has an incredible intellect and unparalleled charisma. Her origin seems to stem from Universe-23-1, where she was a royal scientist for a king who did not persist to the next iteration. While seemingly an upstanding if-awkward individual with a troubled past, Gudrun had found herself enthralled with a lust for power after her experiments shattered the Eldritch Barrier for her. Shackled by the chains of guilt from a past failed experiment, she gave into temptation and desired to join The Eternal Order... but lacked the power to do so at the time.

Gudrun would be aided by a miracle in the form of a psychopathic, soul-devouring monster that would take the form of a young girl, who would become Bethany Briggs in the next iteration. Bethany back then was maddened by her death from so long ago, and ravaged a city that would become Red River City during the next iteration. Gudrun saw a great research opportunity and secretly made a deal with Bethany where she would leak secrets to her in return for being Gudrun's test subject. Bethany would wreak havoc on the incompetent city while Gudrun slowly began to understand how the soul and ULTRAMagic worked, but her plans were halted briefly when William Ford II of all people showed up out out of the blue and started working towards achieving ULTRAMagic for some reason. Gudrun was baffled, but she believed it may have been the next iteration of Universe-23 influencing the past.

Eventually Bethany was defeated, but the heroes were left baffled as to how she was able to get the leg up on them so many times... and then it clicked: Gudrun. Going to confront the corrupted scientist, she set her laboratory into overdrive, which created a black hole just for her that would jettison her into the next iteration. After waving goodbye with a cheeky smile, she quickly realized something had gone wrong. The black hole and its subsequent worm hole was not sending her to the next iteration, but back to the Epoch of the Cosmos itself. While not ideal, she could make it work. As she was flung through space and time, the latent energies of the Cosmos mutating her into a mighty dragon, at the cost of driving her insane for a while. Nearing the end of her voyage, she regained cognizance and realized her plots and schemes would be found out through traces of her iteration manifesting as an… AU ("alternate universe") for an indie video game?

Acting quickly, she used her newfound magic to manipulate Universe-23 to erase all traces of her scheming from the AU fan series, and made it "bad and cringe." She loaded it with plot holes, contrivances, time travel bullshit, Mary Sue's, inconsistent characterization, lazy story writing, and unfinished plot lines. The creator of the fan series even found herself in consistent controversies due to harassing other creatives and employing miscreants, which served to hide Gudrun's actions even further. Strangely a fanfiction of this AU would also pop up detailing Will's side of things, but all Gudrun had to do was ignore it, as someone how the author completely forgot to include her, and the story was incredibly bad and would not have gained any traction. Gudrun would finally end up in the Epoch, but not without catching the attention of The Reality Walkers, The Multiverse Patrol, and The Dark Divers Guild, despite them not having come into existence yet. The Epoch was the era of the gods and the primordials, so Gudrun would have to lay low while she secretly sought out The Eternal Order. The Sepulcher God would not let her join until she proved herself, which would eventually lead to her corrupting The Thundering Order of ancient Feuerland...

Gudrun's life became a winding and complex tale of secrecy, mad science, deception, betrayal, and villainous scheming as she delved deeper and deeper into the depths of eldritch knowledge to satisfy a thirst for power that would never be quenched. Her biggest breakthrough was learning curses, or at least a bastardized version of the famous magic of Ermenrich Denzell, The Hexer of Old. She became vastly more powerful as cause & effect was now her plaything, albeit she chose not to use the magic willy-nilly. Notably following the repeated failure of Karnage and whatever goons he roped into his schemes, Gudrun found herself drifting more and more towards The Running God, who had a more pragmatic vision for The Eternal Order. It has even reached the point where Gudrun has recalled some of her old humanity, and has realized that working with The League may be in The Eternal Order's best interest. Interestingly The Multiverse Patrol has been less likely to go after her in recent times given that she seems to becoming less chaotic, which may be owed to a reevaluation her priorities, the ever escalating nature of the conflict with The Lost Darkness God, and Volf Blitz talking some sense into her in line with his vision for The Eternal Order… the fact that they are in a romantic relationship with each other also certainly helps with this.
