The fist of The Colossus of Old thundered into the head of a shadow titan and sent it tumbling… for what had to be the thirtieth time at least, amidst a barrage of a hundred more that had joined the first twenty that had been taken down. His fatigue was mounting as he growled with a fury that could not be doused, and it was also clear that he was about to lose his mind if he was punched by a titan one more time. “The Behemoth God was always an insufferable blasphemer if you ask me,” he said to his brothers as he ripped off the head of another titan and chucked it into another, simply not caring for good form anymore.

A giant nearly as tall as The Colossus that looked to be made of pink, chewy candy was flung back and tumbled to the ground, but fired a shot from his immense gun that hit the head of the shadow titan in question and caused it to fall over. “Brother, I don’t know how much more of this I can take!” Thankfully Cyrillus was there to help him up.

“Hold on, Taffy, help is almost here,” The Colossus reassured him, despite his mind starting to fog from exhaustion.

A giant made of molten rock with a volcano coming from his back vomited an unimaginable torrent of lava on a titan and then went to pummel it before groaning as loud as he could. “WHERE IS THAT BLITHERING MADMAN WHEN YOU NEED HIM!? I have had enough of this, and the boy is nowhere to be found, Colossus!”

“Blood-Wraith will come, Volcano!” The Colossus said with finality, despite his endurance draining by the minute.

“Blood’s never let us down before, Volcano, trust us,” Maximus replied before trembling and shrinking in size. He had pulled off a Hail Mary that allowed him to increase to the size of his brothers, but the spell had finally worn off. “DAMN IT!” he cursed as he fell to his knees from exhaustion.

“Oh that’s just dandy!” Volcano complained as the erupting mountain on his back exploded and let out a column of ash and lightning in frustration.

As Orrgun went to cover for Maximus, Taffy rushed over to pick him up and held on to him tightly and close to his body to keep him safe. “I hate to admit it, but Volcano has a point, Colossus. We can’t wait any longer…”

The Colossus glanced to the city, then back to the approaching shadow titans. To say he had an idea was being generous, as they needed help right then and there. “Back up to the city, but do it subtly and maintain eye contact with the enemy,” he said in a hushed tone to his brothers and the Death Engines, followed by his eyes glowing bright green for a second.

Englehart received the message loud and clear, and grabbed a two-way radio from one of the guardsmen. “Albrecht, hammer the titans and don’t let up no matter what!”

Everyone looked at Englehart, then two the giants as the roar of the city's colossal cannons rang out, the immense armaments shelling the shadow titans. They could all see that the group was slowly backing up, with this sending everyone into a panic. “NO NO NO!” Schwarzes exclaimed. “WE… WE… NO, we still have something, right?! This is not how it was supposed to play out!”

“WE’RE DOOMED!?” The Fear panicked as he began to run around the wall’s platform. “DOOM DOOM DOOMED!?”

“Brother, enough!” The Hunger said as he picked him up then set him back down. “No, this is playing out how it should…”

“HOW!?” Schwarzes barked. “DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT’S GOING ON OUT THERE?!”

The Hunger groaned as he felt irritated from having to deal with so many children that day. “Alright, fine, something is definitely wrong on Karnage’s side, make no mistake about it. As far as I can see, we’re all right where we need to be, however…”

“Are you absolutely sure about that?” David questioned. “I may have been able to get my crew out of tight spots such as that on Treasure Island, but this is well beyond what any mere man could maneuver his way out of…”

“I have to agree with the doctor, as this is quickly becoming insurmountable…” Englehart noted. “Dunja, can you summon The Shadow God?”

She took a breath and focused, hoping to get some form of results this time. “Come on, Shadow God… Come on…”

The wall shook for a second and from the city facing side appeared a black splotch of immense size and out emerged The Shadow God himself, albeit looking gravely concerned rather than his usual jovial self. “I know, I know, your majesty, but I don’t know what to do…”

“Shadow, please tell us what’s going on?” Dunja asked hopefully as the giants finally made their way to the wall.

“I… I mean, I’m not supposed to show up until Blood shows up, but I… I think he’s really close…”

“Can you do anything about Karnage’s titan production?” Englehart requested.

The Shadow God felt his guilt mount as he nervously looked at Karnage and the False Tyrant God in the distance, a chill running up his spine. “I wish I could, but he’s stronger than me! I’m only 10D and he’s 12D…”

“ARGH, I’m not waiting for them any longer!” a great, female voice exclaimed as a colossal woman whose body was half stone and half crystal appeared in a burst of magical energy in front of the Colossus, his brothers, and the Death Engines. “That vile despot won’t get away with this!” she roared as giant meteors of crystal and lightning began to rain down on the encroaching shadow titan army.

Everyone was stunned by this, with The Golem rising up to the wall to address everyone. “Normally I wouldn’t tolerate this much deviation from a plan, but I’ll allow The God of The Abyss to step in for now, given the circumstances…”

“Golem, how are things down in the city proper?” Englehart asked after giving a few orders to the guardsmen, clearly nervous.

“There’s distress in the city, but Radovan and Rose have rallied all that they can, and Vilho and the other sword masters are ready to go should there be a breach in the wall. And obviously the rest of The ULTRAMagic Guild are ready to move out just in case.”

Waramunt looked as if he was having a grim flashback to a previous battle, but Lia was able to snap him out of it. “Waramunt, dear, you okay?”

He came to and shuddered, giving Lia a hug. “I’ll… I’ll be fine. Argh, where’s Ozymandias and Tereza? Have they not gotten back yet?”

“Brother!” Barna said as he came running up. “The Beast of Old is getting restless and he’s ready to go out and attack Karnage right now. Where’s Blood-Wraith, is he back yet?”

This naturally turned into a flurry of worried questions, with the gods and primordials present trying to calm the others down. Englehart felt his frustration grow and was on the verge of telling everyone to shut up, stemming from his anger towards not being able to fight on the battlefield, but a magnificent presence thankfully calmed the gathering. “Enough, everyone!” Ozymandias said as he and Tereza stepped onto the wall, both at the size of everyone else for the time being. “The God of The Abyss headed out a little early, but we'll manage…”

“Ozymandias, where in the unholy thunder have you been?!” Leonard demanded to know. “I don’t like being left hanging out to dry like that!” he said as he poked Ozymandias in the chest.

“Don’t worry, everyone, help is on the way as we speak,” Tereza assured, causing the others to hold back a smile just in case something went wrong. “We just had to take care of a few things, but Blood is almost here.”

“Yes yes-one side, pardon me…” The Vermilion King said as he made his way over to the main group. “I am so sorry for the delay, but we had to explain some things to Blood…”

“Cutting it close, Vermilion God,” Nacht cautioned. “You’re lucky Karnage’s arrogance knows no bounds.”

“An irreverent arrogance that has given us an opening only someone as great as God himself could bless us with,” Hermes noted as he emerged from the portal that The Madman of Old had created. “Do not panic, as The Source has delivered unto us our salvation, and it arrives just as planned and intended!”

“Brother!?” The Fear said as he ran over and hugged him. “Thank goodness, I was fearing the worst was about to happen. Are you sure Blood’s going to show up though? He was pretty dead when his squad got here…”

“Do not hold yourself in despair, Fear, as everything will be fine,” Hermes said as patted The Fear’s shoulder.

“Well, Hermes, it’s certainly been a while,” The Hunger remarked. “It’s a shame we couldn't have mom and dad here…”

“Indeed, Hunger, but such a spectacular reunion should be saved for a time less dire than this. Everyone, our time to strike back is upon us and we must be ready when Blood-Wraith and Dreadnaught arrive!”

Englehart was relieved given who had shown up, but was still worried regardless. “It is reassuring to have you with us, honorable Trismegistus, but we still have Karnage out there with his False Tyrant God, ready to attack at any moment…”

“Don’t worry, Englehart, as everything is going according to plan…” The Vermilion King started to say. “A lot smoother than I thought it would, if I’m being honest, haha.”

“You’re awfully nonchalant about this, your majesty…” Schwarzes nervously pointed out as he walked up with Valentina.

“Do you need us to do anything else?” Valentina inquired. “Anything at all? Because I can sense Blood from here…”

“Get the guild ready and give them the good news,” The Vermilion King answered.

“Yes sir!” the two dark angels said in unison as they flew down into the city.

“Now to address the elephant in the room…”

Wulfric grumbled and went right up to The Vermilion King. “I don’t care what plan you have in mind, when Blood gets here I’m going down there to help the boy out. This is my fight too.”

The Vermilion King chuckled, as he had planned for such a declaration. “Then so be it, as who am I to stand between you and your personal duty?”

There was a little surprise as Wulfric figured there would have been some pushback, but he accepted the honor without complaint. “My gratitude, your majesty.”

“Just don’t mess this up, kid,” Benedictus cautioned. “We have a lot riding on this battle and your father won’t be here to bail you out this time…”

Ealdhelm laughed as Wulfric glared at Benedictus. “Now now, you two, let’s save that for Karnage. Of course, let’s also see what Blood-Wraith has in store for him…”

Karnage could smell blood in the air as he saw the giants begin to back up. It was his time to deliver the final strike and he was going to go for it with no hesitation. “HAHA, TIME TO FINISH THIS FOOLISH BOUT AND RAZE THE COSMOS A NEW ONE!” he bellowed with the False Tyrant God laughing alongside him. “VOLF, ANNE, GUDRUN, RICK, CRI…” Karnage froze and looked around… was he all alone? Where had all of his underlings gone? They dare abandon him on the eve of his victory? THE MISERABLE COWARDS!? “HOW DARE THOSE… ARGH, fine! More for me! The Lost Darkness God was right…”

Despite The God of The Abyss appearing and starting to push back the shadow titans, Karnage and the False Tyrant God moved forward, with Karnage grinning every step of the way. He had his fun, but now it was time to destroy The Iron City and The ULTRAMagic Guild once and for all. More gods had shown up, but Karnage did not care as he would wipe them all out with ease. Even though his stolen power was starting to make his head ache with a pain that would have killed any mortal a thousand times over, he ignored it as the sweet taste of victory and everlasting domination of the Cosmos was something beyond intoxicating. And in the final moments of his burgeoning conquest, about to pounce on his prey and devour them with a truly evil glee, something stopped him and made him realize something was about to go horrifically wrong for him…

“ULTRAMagic DREADNAUGHT, TRANSFORM!!!” a mighty voice called out that was heard by everyone. In the skies of the war-torn battlefield appeared a mighty warship that began to glow and change shape with incredibly loud grinding and clanking. A humanoid armored in parts of the ship and its deck began to form from the moving components, and from several, energy-raging portals came multiple vehicles that rushed towards Dreadnaught. A Flying Wing mounted itself to his back with a loud thud, two trains whose wheels thundered as they traveled became its leg armor, and a pair of giant, heavily armored tanks became its gauntlets with mounted cannons. Once he was finished, Dreadnaught landed on the ground with a massive shake of the earth, and those on the wall of The Iron City beheld a mighty warrior of machine and magic beyond comprehension.

The show was not over yet, as emerging from the same portal Dreadnaught had arrived from was a magnificent dragon of black metal, red flame, and golden armor. Even though this dragon was new to everyone, those in The Iron City cheered as loud as they could as they knew exactly who it was. The dragon did a few aerial laps around the city, letting out breaths of fire and smoke in a performative way, accompanied with a few confident roars here and there. He then said something that must have been a void spell, as fireworks shot into the sky (which had quickly turned to night) to give those who were in fear a grand show that would give them hope for the climax of The Tyrant War. The dragon then touched down right before Dreadnaught and began charging up for something. He let out one final and truly mighty roar that shook The Unlight itself as his flames surged across his body, and a great fear gripped Karnage as something inside him was screaming at the bloodthirsty rogue god that he was well and truly done for.

The dragon then reverted back to a man well known to everyone present. “KARNAGE, get down here!” Blood-Wraith ordered with a confident grin on his face.
