As much as Blood-Wraith would have loved to complain about how he could not play video games the next day, he held his tongue. Barna and Dunja were finally returning home. Thankfully messages from Shadowland confirmed that things had finally settled down and that everyone was on their way. Blood-Wraith was incredibly happy as everyone gathered in Tower Square, readying for the return.

“Alright, where’s Eustorgio?” Vexation asked as he looked around.

“Yeah, he said he’d be here,” Blood-Wraith pointed out. He then looked up into the sky, noticing a giant, bat-like creature flying towards them. “There he is!”

Deimos touched down next to them and reverted back to normal. “Don’t worry, I’m here!”

“Jeez, Uncle Deimos, cutting it a bit close?”

He chuckled. “Apologies, Blood. Where’s the king?”

“Right over there” said Vexation as he pointed at Englehart, talking with his council. “Hurry before everyone gets back.”

“Right… Your majesty? Do you have a second?”

Drusa then walked over. “I presume Unmariner is back then? Also, where’s Gummi?”

Blood-Wraith looked around. “Oh, he’s right here, ha” he said as Gummi approached.

“Hey, did you guys need me for something?”

“Apparently. How did things go in the tower last night?”

Gummi laughed a little. “Great, aside from all of the looks I got.” The others chuckled.

Drusa set her hand on his shoulder. “Gummi, I was thinking about last night and I would love to have you as one of my followers.”

He was surprised. “Really? After all I did here, in The Unlight?”

“Boy, that initiative and subterfuge you pulled in Shadowland is right up my alley. With a little training and education, you’ll achieve great things in no time.”

“Thank you, your divinity. I accept.”

“Excellent!” she replied. “Swing by Blood’s later and we’ll get things ironed out.”

Before they could say anything else, horns were starting to be played. “Shoot, here they come!” Blood-Wraith stated as the four scrambled to their positions.

Seeing the carriages roll up to Tower Square was truly a great sight to behold. Barna, Dunja, and Torunn were waving to the crowd as they passed. Blood-Wraith had the biggest smile on his face as they all stepped out of the carriages while triumphant music played. As Dunja went to hug Englehart, Blood-Wraith got a good look at Barna. It was hard to pin down, but he looked happier, despite a hint of remorse.

“Brother, Milosh and his cult are finally dead!” Barna proudly declared. The crowd of people who had gathered cheered in celebration of this.

“Well done, Barna! Well done all of you!” Englehart commended. “It is a momentous day indeed. And I am honored to welcome our newest knights, The Blades of Dunja! May the Source bless these mighty and loyal protectors of The Iron City!”

Once the applause settled down, Dunja addressed the crowd. “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re not quite out of the woods yet. There’s still some things me and the blades need to clean up, but I am certain we can handle it. And even though Milosh is currently a scorch mark in The Storm Plateau, I wouldn’t be surprised if he still had something up his sleeve. We’ll be ready just in case he hid something from me for the umpteenth time…” This elicited some laughter in addition to more applause.

Englehart smiled as he clapped. “With that being said, let us convene to discuss what has transpired. I’m certain there’s a lot to talk about.”

The main dining hall had been set up as a place for everyone to talk and relax. With the crowds of people having returned to their homes and work, everyone involved in the war with Milosh could finally rest. Truthfully it was a surreal sight to see Milosh’s former allies in the tower, but a welcome one nonetheless.

“Blades, to the throne room!” Dunja jokingly commanded. This received a round of laughter.

Honestly I had no idea this day would come” Octavius pointed out. “Also where’s the prince?”

“He may be sleeping in, given the day he had to bear yesterday,” Englehart answered.

“Well I hope he gets here soon,” Torunn added. “The boy needs to see his parents.”

“Aye. Also, Torunn? Thank you for taking care of him in Shadowland,” Englehart said as he shook her hand. “And since you two are close, would you like to be his godmother?”

She smiled. “Aw shucks, it would be an honor, your majesty.”

Funnily enough, Albrecht was escorted into the room by Mal as they said all of that. She was trying to straighten out his hair as they walked. “I’m here. Sorry I'm late, everyone” said the prince.

Mal was also trying to fix his dress clothes. “Hold on, you’re not fully ready yet…”

While that happened, Blood-Wraith and Aureolus were talking at one of the windows. “I’m just glad to have you back safe and sound, Aureolus,” Blood-Wraith stated.

“And it’s great to be back. Although I have to say, Shadowland is a beautiful city. You really have to go there sometime.”

“Duly noted. Oh, I beat Accelerator Legends… Twice.”

    “Twice?”

    “I got the bad ending.”

Aureolus gave him a slightly incredulous look. “Blood, I told you that you have to find all of the memories.”

He groaned a little. “I get that now.”

“Aureolus, come here,” Barna called out. “You too if you wish, Blood.”

“What’s up, dad?” Aureolus asked as they walked over. Corentin, Kresimira, Gummi, and Gratiana were also there.

“Alright, so in regards to me and Gratiana: We’re not going to rush into this, but we’re eventually getting married.”

Corentin and Kresimira were stunned. “What!?” they said in unison.

Gratiana gave a sympathetic laugh. “Would you be willing to accept me as your mother and Gummi as your brother, Corentin?”

He needed a moment to process this. “Wow… that’s something else. Jeez, dad, I didn’t expect you to go over to Shadowland and literally bring me home a mother. Hey, Aunt Dunja?”

She walked over, with Turi happily perched on her shoulder. “What’s the matter?”

“Are you okay with dad and Gratiana getting together?”

Dunja nodded. “Of course, and so is your uncle. Seriously, Gratiana has been after your father since day one, haha.” This caused the couple to blush a little. Dunja then returned to talking with the king and the council.

“Alright then, fine with me,” Corentin conceded. “Kresimira?”

    “Same here. Congratulations, you two.”

“Thanks,” Barna replied. “Oh, Gratiana, here’s the hero himself, Sir Blood-Wraith Raynot.”

He bowed, then shook her hand. “It’s an honor to meet you, Gratiana.”

“Same here, Sir Blood-Wraith. I can’t begin to thank you enough for your bravery. Truthfully I had no faith in The Lich of Old. I was with Dunja in getting rid of him, but then Milosh brought in Lia who rallied the cult behind the idea of the lich…”

    “Oh jeez…”

“Agreed. You have my eternal gratitude for ridding the Cosmos of that abomination. I hope he didn’t cause you too much duress?”

Blood-Wraith shrugged. “Well he nearly killed us multiple times, but hey, it comes with the territory.”

“Huh, you’re taking the metal oasis fight pretty well,” Aureolus pointed out.

“Quiet,” Blood-Wraith snapped. They all laughed.

“If it’s not too much of a burden, I would love to hear more about your adventures when you get the chance, Sir Blood-Wraith,” said Gratiana.

“Sure, just let me and Drago know whenever you're free…” He then noticed Andelin inviting him over. “If you’ll pardon me.”

Andelin was standing with Torunn, who had been chatting with Drazhan and Theobold. “Hello again, Blood-Wraith,” she said. “This is Torunn Craddock, the new leader of the Blades.”

“Nice to meet you, kid!” Torunn said. “Put it there.”

Blood-Wraith shook her hand. “Nice to meet you too, Torunn.”

“Looks like I’m going to be your commanding officer soon. I’ve heard great things about you and can’t wait to work with you.”

Blood-Wraith noticed a slight twitch to Torunn’s leg. She was quietly nervous, which he sympathized with. “Oh, Torunn? Since he’s not here, I’ve been told that Weaver wants to join The ULTRAMagic Guild.”

She nodded. “He’s certainly been mentioning that. Would you guys mind if he joined you? I promise he’ll be one the best darn blacksmiths you’ve ever had.”

Blood-Wraith smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ve already told Tiberius and we’re making room for him. He’s good to go.”

Later that night, Blood-Wraith returned to his house with Aureolus, Vexation, and Drusa. They were all fairly tired and needed to kick back from all of the excitement that day. Since they had been eating at the tower, Vexation prepared a light dinner that they all enjoyed in the living room as they watched the television. The news programs were talking non stop about what had been going on in Shadowland.

“Hey, Aureolus?” Drusa said as she tapped his shoulder. “Can I see your deck of hexes?”

    “Sure, Drusa.”

She began looking through the cards, occasionally shuffling them. “Fascinating. I know you’re leery about this stuff, Rich, but you should really take a look at this.”

He shook his head and chuckled. “Let me see… you know what? Not bad for a recreation of my work. Who gave you these?” Vexation asked as he handed the deck back to Aureolus.

“Delphine, the Discordant God of Desire.”

“That’s what I figured. I knew I sensed someone chaotic dabbling in this kind of magic a while back.”

Aureolus then remembered something. “Oh! Drusa, I got to meet Maxima while I was meeting with Delphine.”

She clapped. “Oh cool cool cool! How's she doing?”

“Fine, it appears. She’s currently making sure the Discordant Gods behave themselves.”

Drusa laughed a little. “Intriguing. I figured she’d wander toward the Realm of Chaos eventually.”

There was a brief moment of nothing said as the four sat there, enjoying the movie playing on the television. Aureolus then looked at Blood-Wraith. “That knight uniform looks great on you.”

“You think so? Brenna suggested I wear it to the guild.”

“That’d be really cool. It would give you a degree of authority, I think.”

Vexation chuckled. “Either way, definitely heed Tiberius’ word, boys. He may be a stiff at times, but he knows what he’s doing.”

Blood-Wraith nodded. “Oh, Aureolus? I’m going to school next month.”

“Really? What for and for how long?”

“Just a semester. Mom and Drago recommended it. Because of that, I’m giving Tiberius free reign to do what he wants to get the guild ready.”

“Alright then,” Aureolus replied. “If that’s what you feel is right. You’ll definitely have to tell me what it’s like.”

“Will do… say, do you ever feel the need to go to school?”

“Not really. I have a basic understanding of the fundamental forces of the Cosmos. History is also fairly easy to grasp. And that’s not to mention some of the best teachers I have to help me at the moment.”

“Yeah,” Blood-Wraith agreed. “We’re pretty lucky like that…”

“For real though, Blood; you really need to go to school.”

This caught him off guard. “Pardon?”

“Your arithmetic and calculating skills need improving. Your notes are also full of all sorts of errors and mistakes, and your handwriting isn’t the best…”

“Okay, okay! Jeez, what are you? My big sister?” The others laughed.

Things steadily calmed down as everyone got settled in over the next couple of days. The Blades of Dunja were officially instituted as knights of The Iron City, Gummi moved in with Barna, and Albrecht received official recognition as a prince. Dragoslava was out and about one day when she sensed something. Calling forth her raven feather, she observed that it was shaking and pointing in the direction of Ironfire Station. Pausing what she was doing, she made her way there.

Upon arriving, Mariya was a little surprised as she was just about to call her. Over at platform two was a special train from the Cosmos proper. A familiar demon stepped out of one of the passenger cars.

    “Oh hey, Stolon!” said Dragoslava.

“Ah, Drago. Just who I wanted to see. Are Desislav and Blood-Wraith free at the moment?”

“They should be, assuming Theobold hasn’t loaded Blood up with duties. What’s the occasion?”

“Well I’d like to invite you three along for one of my family’s picnics.”

“Sure, Stolon. That’d be great. It would certainly give me something to do other than all of the study work my sister slapped me with…” she remarked as they left the station.

“Fairly mundane studies, I trust. How did the return of Barna and Queen Dunja go?”

“Fantastic,” Dragoslava answered. “Everyone is back safe and sound.”

    “Most excellent,” said Stolon.

Dragoslava noticed Desislav and whistled. “Desislav! Stolon invited us to a picnic and we’re going to get Blood. Coming?”

“Sure, awesome. I’ll be right over.”

Dragoslava chuckled. “We’re still pretty busy, but we have some spare time.”
