ULTRAMagic Prelude - Chapter 7

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon         “So there, that’s why we should have Desislav with us,” Dragoslava finished explaining. “His strength and muscles?” Blood-Wraith was a bit confused. “Fair enough, but what about his expertise in regards to forests?” “That too!” “This is quite the detour, but I’ll go along with it if you’re certain,” Leif replied as he flew back to The Iron City. Dragoslava nodded. “Could you not worry, just a little bit? You’re 5th dimensional after all.” Another reason why she wanted Desislav along was that she was secretly nervous. A forest with no definitive location had the potential to cause anyone to lose their sense of direction, amongst other potential issues. There was also the Lich, so she felt strength in numbers was ideal. Upon reaching the city, arcing electricity could be seen a ways off. It was likely to be Corentin, but the trio had bigger priorities to deal with. As soon as they reached the tower and ...

ULTRAMagic Prelude - Chapter 6

Previous | First | Next Master Post  - Patreon      Dragoslava was grumbling as she wrote down some notes. “This is so annoying…”      “What’s the matter?” Blood-Wraith asked, looking up from his book.      “I found another planet yesterday, but I can’t write down the coordinates! Every time I try, it turns into something completely unreadable. Look at this nonsense…”      Blood-Wraith studied the numbers on the paper in her notebook. They looked like something he could understand, yet could not, like it was a spell. “Odd. They’re on the tip of my tongue too. What did the planet look like?”      “Blue, a very rich blue. My guess is that it is an ocean world… or a gas giant. Although there were what I think were land masses, so it’s probably an ocean world. Another odd thing is that it has multiple structures, one above each of the biggest land masses. They’re part of the reason why I want to go there; ...

ULTRAMagic Prelude - Chapter 5

Previous | First | Next Master Post  - Patreon      “I think I got it…” Blood-Wraith stated as he organized a pile of rocks into a tidy formation.      Kresimira nodded. “Alright, show me what you have come up with.”      Blood-Wraith held up his right hand above the rocks. It took a second, but a bolt of energy emanated from his palm and struck the pile. This caused the rocks to light up and shine brightly. A moment later they had formed into a 12 inch sculpture of him. At this point it was the end of the second week of tutoring and Kresimira had been hoping for this outcome. The sculpture was not perfect, but it proved that there was definitive progress,      “Well done, Blood-Wraith. Well done” Kresimira congratulated with a calm applause.      “...but I didn’t get all the details down.”      Kresimira took the sculpture and put it on her desk. “Don’t worry sweetie, it’s fine. It’s b...

ULTRAMagic Prelude - Chapter 4

Previous | First | Next Master Post  - Patreon      Before the two eager explorers could set out again, Kresimira took a week to give the duo some tutoring. She wanted to check on her sister’s skill level and help Blood-Wraith progress a little further with his alchemy. Her suspicions towards Dragoslava were correct in that her sister had been neglecting her Alchemy in favor of exploring. The fact that she was also looking into other forms of magic did not help either. This was typically a good thing, but there were concerns that this would skew Blood-Wraith’s studies.      As Kresimira walked around the alchemical lab (which was not too far off from a standard chemistry lab), she noticed Dragoslava making a fatal error in her notes. “Drago, dear, no. Do not add that much gunpowder to the barrel…rounds… just what in the blue blazes are you planning?”      “Ah come on sis, what’s the worst that could happen? The more the…”  ...

ULTRAMagic Prelude - Chapter 3

Previous | First | Next Master Post  - Patreon      A couple of days had passed since the last journey on account of Dragoslava having to write up a report on the now named Fire World (A name coined by her). She was a member of The Central Unlight Explorers Guild and was expected to do write ups on her findings. Blood-Wraith took this opportunity to continue his research. Notes and books piled up beside him as he delved further and further into Alchemy. By the second day, he was buried in his studies with papers strewn about everywhere. A lot of the knowledge was still confusing since he was a beginner, but he was making progress regardless. And for some reason he could not shake the feeling he was retreading old grand despite the knowledge seeming new to him.      Dragoslava entered the room, being careful not to step on anything important. “Okay then…oops…careful… Hey, Blood, how’s the…research going?”      “Satisfactory” Blood-Wrai...

ULTRAMagic Prelude - Chapter 2

Previous | First | Next Master Post  - Patreon      Dreaming that night was an interesting experience for Blood-Wraith. At first he thought he had been woken up early, but then it became clear that he was somewhere else. He found himself floating in a sea of clouds that billowed and shrunk. They were all gray and rumbled every now and then. A rhythmic droning could be heard, yet it had no obvious source. He tried to move forward, but nothing changed. And interacting with the clouds was like grasping at air. It felt like something was supposed to be there, and he could just barely make out figures in the distance, but Blood-Wraith woke up before he could figure out who they were. A tad annoyed, he sat up in his bed.      “I was wondering when you were going to wake up,” Dragoslava remarked, sitting in a chair near the beds. “It’s nearly 10…”      “Did I leave the tower last night?”      “I don’t think so. Why? What’s the...
