“If I may, ladies and gentlemen…” Yale said as he quickly flew over between Will and Ripsaw, the former having turned into Chaos Haze and the latter having what looked like a series of saw chains spin in idle around his fists. They were both confused as Yale was glowing bright red, radiating repressed anger.

“What do you want, bug?” Ripsaw sneered as he spat on the ground.

“This…” The air heated up like an oven and in a flash Yale shot out a burst of energy that sent Ripsaw flying back and tumbling across the ground. “THAT’S FOR WHAT THE DEATH KNELLS DID TO MY FOREST!”

It took him a second to recover, but when Ripsaw did his face was red with rage as he hurt all over. “YOU’RE DEAD, AFROMAN!!!” he roared as he barreled forward with great speed, sounding like a series of ravenous saws–seemingly gliding forward, but in actuality he was riding forward with saw chains on his feet.

“OH GEE–THANKS, YALE!” Will barked as the fairy flew back to Liss-Zael, enlarging his fists and covering them in rock-hard ice. He slammed his right into Ripsaw, who began tearing it up with saw chains that appeared on his chest and arms, but he had to bounce back when Will readied his left fist for an overhead slam that shook the ground. Will did not realize it as it came second nature to him, but Haze was seemingly tapping into the greater strength that ULTRAMagic had granted Will.

Ripsaw certainly had his work cut out for him as this Will was vastly different from the awkward, stumbling dork from their academy days. And despite the two being evenly matched thanks to their unique skill sets, Ripsaw was underestimating Will left and right. Will had always been an awkward fighter, but Ripsaw’s screw-ups were going to get him hurt and he was slowly beginning to realize this. And Anker could not provide any help, as he and Vlastimir were slamming blades up against each other. Anker was impressed with his foe’s newfound discipline, which was a far cry from back when they had clashed in The Unlight. He must have trained with someone like Master Vilho, as Anker was on the backpedal with Vlastimir’s greatswords threatening to break his magic blood claws–which took the form of giant gauntlets with sword-like blades protruding from them.

Morrigan and Ekaterina had their work cut out for them given that Esteri was a wild card of a fighter–not helped by her magic. While star magic could easily handle the bullets, Ekaterina was at a loss. The magic she had been given by The Lich of Old–soucred from the abominations of The Lost Era–was meant for use against Dragoslava Raynot, not an utter hooligan that could fire red hot slugs from her mouth. The old issue Ekaterina had addressed so many years ago in The Iron City with Vlastimir was rearing its ugly head once more. Esteri kept hooting and hollering as she had the two on the ropes. Ekaterina would be forced to weave and dodge like a confused child, but thankfully Morrigan would put a stop to this by getting up close and personal with their opponent. Esteri was not at a disadvantage, however–as she was able to create two blades from arms, appearing as large bayonets.

As she struggled to hold back Morrigan’s curved greatswords, she got a good look at her when she blocked one of the swords–and came to an interesting conclusion… “Girl–you are so fine–damn son!” she complimented as she pulled one of her arms back to ready a gesture. “If our boyfriends ever kick the bucket–” She then mouthed ‘call me’ while making a phone shape with her free hand.

Morrigan’s eyes went wide, masking her revulsion at her opponent’s licentious comments. “EXCUSE ME?!” she screeched, then jerked her head forward with a scowl. A wave of a repelling force sent Esteri tumbling back a bit. “JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!” Morrigan had already had enough jerking around with Karnage, and she was not going to tolerate whatever was going through Esteri’s head.

Esteri picked herself up, her body having fully metalized to protect herself. “Haha–she’s a feisty one!”

“DAMN IT ALL, ESTERI–Focus!” a husky, yellow-eyed devil with gunmetal gray skin said as he emerged from her right arm.

“Yeah yeah, Abelone, I know…” she haughtily dismissed.

“Pull your head out of your ass for two seconds and pay attention–that is thee Morrigan Devilfay! Not some random sellsword off the street…”

Esteri elected to keep her skin metalized. “Duly noted and–”

“And there’s something wrong with that Ekaterina person,” he noted as the two women regrouped and the other battles raged on around them. “Be careful–that power of hers isn’t natural, and I don’t mean that in an artificial way…”

“Jeez…” Esteri noted as she nodded. “If she’s got an old fart like you worried…” Abelone groaned as he retreated back into Esteri. She then clacked her arm and ran forward. “I DIDN’T HEAR NO BELL, LADIES!”

Ekaterina panicked and felt her mind go into autopilot as something compelled her to shoot out one of her ribbons. Her friend readied her swords, but was taken off guard when Esteri fell on her back, with Ekaterina having the most surprised look on her face. “Wait a second…” she observed as she tugged on the ribbon, yanking Esteri forward a little.

“Eka, did you just…?” Morrigan started to say.

“Excuse me, Miss!” Esteri protested as she tried to shake her leg free from the metal coiled around it.

As soon as the realization sunk in for Ekaterina, an evil grin crept across her face, giving way to one of childish glee. “WHOOPS,” she said as she flung Esteri over her head and slammed her on the ground. “MY BAD!” she cried as she did it again. Esteri would be fine as long as she stayed metalized…

“SHIT!” Esteri yelled as she hit the ground with a smack once more. “ABELONE–SPLIT!”

“RIGHT NOW, YOU DAFT PILLOCK!?” he fired back as they sailed through the air.

“MALTE–HELP–NOW!” she shouted while being flung around.

Ripsaw knocked Will back and noticed the spectacle as Morrigan cheered Ekaterina on. “DAMN… Alright, I’m coming!” he called out as he started to run to her aid.

Will noticed this and shot a jet of cold air right before his next footstep, creating a patch of slippery ice. “OH NO YOU DON’T!”

“SHITBALLS!” Ripsaw exclaimed as he landed on his ass with a thud… He was going to feel that one in the morning. “OH YOU’RE GOING TO GET IT NOW, AFROMAN.”

Anker noticed this upset and tried to go help Esteri too, but was ensnared by a tendril of black blood… “WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING!?” Vlastimir growled as the blood fully encased Anker, allowing Vlastimir to sling him back with a slam on the ground.

“Well shit…” Ripsaw noted while saw blades and chainsaws emerged from all over this body, revving even louder than before. He then turned to Will with a maniacal smile. “Looks like I’ll just have to take care of you first, Specialist…”

Will started to panic as Ripsaw took heavy steps towards him, but then he had an idea… “Mira, demerge for a second–I’ve got it!”

“WHAT–Why now!?” she questioned given the revving and whirring maniac approaching them.

Haze could sense what Will was cooking up in his head and retreated off of him, appearing as a blob on the ground that quickly formed into Mira. “Go for it, Will!” he cheered on from Mira’s hand.

Mira naturally looked down at herself to see that she had been turned into her own version of Chaos Haze. “OH MY GOODNESS!” she cried in embarrassment as she covered herself up (when she did not need to).

Will was standing there in his Liger Brigade-issued, nylon-spandex boxers–but he did not care as he felt ready to go. “ROH!” he called out as a familiar card appeared in his hand.

Ripsaw laughed with bellowing mockery as he doubled over from hysteria. “REALLY, SPECIALIST AFROMAN?! NICE UNDIES!”

“You’re laughing now, Malte, but–AZURE SPIDER!” In an explosion of blue light and volcanic smoke that shook the ground appeared a giant tarantula made of black metal and glowing blue lava that coursed throughout it. The air heated up around them as the furnace-like interior of the arachnid rumbled like an erupting volcano, and his roar matched that ferocity. Will stomped his bulky front legs and cackled triumphantly, his voice sounding like it was made from a crackling fire. “WHAT DO YOU THINK, MALTE?”

Ripsaw was stunned for a second, but smiled as the saws all over him went into overdrive. “NOW THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT IT–HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT, WILL!!” Despite their adversarial relationship, Ripsaw was feeling pumped–like that had made everything he had gone through up until then worth it. He would never admit aloud, but that was one of the coolest things Will had ever done, and his respect for him was growing.

Esteri had been launched once more and landed next to Ripsaw with a thud. “Ow…” she then noticed the giant spider… “WHAT THE FU–WHAT’S WITH THE SPIDER?!”

Anker landed on his bottom next to them with a rough landing and shakily picked himself up. “What, you never heard of the transformations of Sir Blood-Wraith Raynot? I guess Will got his hands on one thanks to Valentin…”

“Makes no difference to me,” Ripsaw handwaved as he held his whirring hands up, ready to go.

As the two groups rallied together and slowly approached each other–shaking the ground as they did, Liss-Zael rubbed his hands together and cackled. “OOH, VIOLENT–LOOKS LIKE THESE KIDS GOT BARK AND BITE!”

Mira panicked as the air electrified with the anticipation that all of Hell was about to break loose. “DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!” she ordered, not wanting Will and the others to get hurt. She knew Liss-Zael must have had something he could do…

“Oh come on–this is going to be good!” he shot back, receiving an angry growl from Mira as she clenched her fists, shaking with anger.

Yale quickly studied the impending battle and was overtaken by Mira’s fear. “LISS!” he shouted as he buzzed like an angry swarm of hornets.

Liss-Zael grumbled, but relented. “Alright, alright–I’ve got my second wind and–” he then heard something that caught everyone offguard–the bellowing of a… dinosaur? “Shit–EVERYONE GET OVER HERE NOW!” he called out to the group.

That order shook Will from his fervor as he glanced over to where he had heard the noise. “What the…” Something was coming, so he began backing up. “Everyone fall back to Liss-Zael!”

As Will’s group retreated, Esteri was about to mock them as cowards, but Ripsaw stopped her with a raised hand as he dispelled his magic. “Kill a motor–I got a good idea who it is…”

There was a moment of silence… then they all heard a man yell in panic as he flew over the trees and landed on the ground in the middle of everything. He was a very familiar man in a blue and gold tuxedo that invoked the idea of a jester’s attire, and he scrambled for his bowler hat. He then glanced up at Will’s group and smiled. “Ah, Will–Moikka!” And then noticed Ripsaw and company… “Oh not you punks again…”

    “Perkele!?” Will questioned.

“Just the man I wanted to see!” Ripsaw said as he cracked his knuckles–the trio started to approach Perkele like they were going to beat him up. “Start talking, clown!”

Start talking, clown!” he mocked in a jeering tone. He then got out a fake flip phone and said into it “911? I’d like to report an emergency…” And then came the rumbling… “Oh shit–he’s still after me…” Barreling out of the trees was a black and red atlasaurus that oozed a scarlet substance from its legs–a startling sight to behold for sure. It bellowed at Perkele, causing him to start to flee. “And that’s my ride, Akaya–whoop whoop whoop whoooop!”

“HEY–GET BACK HERE, CLOWN!” Ripsaw barked as they started to chase after him.

“Oh piss off, child–It’s past your bedtime!” he scolded as he threw down an orb that created a cloud of blue and gold smoke.

The trio were quickly disoriented and gave up, vocalizing their frustrations. “Damn it all,” Ripsaw growled… and then the dinosaur gave off a low rumbling towards them. “Retreat! You win this round, Afroman!” he called out as they ran away.

The dinosaur laughed as it vanished in a cloud of red smoke, revealing a charming, handsome man in fabulous formal wear and a top hat. His skin had traces of a glittering rust-like substance, his reddish brow hair was nice and tidy, and his purplish-magenta eyes were utterly dazzling. Amidst this air of charisma and refinement lay the aura of a truly strange demon–one that did not belong, similar to Liss-Zael. Will and Vlastimir immediately knew who it was and had a chill rundown their spines… but there was also a sense of longing nostalgia, like that they had reunited with an old friend. And Akaya was certainly happy to see the boys again–alive, well, and looking like they had clearly become stronger since the last time they met. With a smile on his face he cleared his throat and approached the group with a calm, happy gait.

“Boys–it’s so good to see you again!” he said with a clap. “Just look at how much you’ve grown since graduation!” He then chuckled as he took in Will’s form. “Will–did I accidentally turn you into a spider on that fateful day?”

Will gave a nervous rumble, of which Morrigan could sense his unease–especially considering Will was most likely apprehensive to revert back. “Hello, Akaya… Um, no–it was a gift from Blood-Wraith…”

Akaya nodded, pleasantly surprised. “Of course of course–how wonderful indeed!” He then turned to Vlastimir, who had remained covered in hardened black blood. “Vlastimir, it goes without saying that I was worried sick about you–”

“Really?” he asked in a skeptical tone, still untrusting.

“Of course, my boy–as your parents have sung your praises and then some–and I utterly regret my uncouth behavior back at the academy…”

Vlastimir could not help but laugh, given his encounters in The Unlight–especially with The Lich of Old. “Really?! You’re done with seeking ultimate power and full control of Earth?”

“Don’t we all wish to rule the Earth at some point? I… I understand your apprehension and I want to make it up–”

“BLAH BLAH–enough gab!” Liss-Zael cut in–seemingly impatient, but clearly worried about something. “Akaya–YOU WEREN’T SUPPOSED TO GET CAUGHT BY PERKELE! Please tell me you–”

“Liss, don’t be too harsh on everyone,” Yale cut in. “We were legitimately caught off guard–”

Liss gave some annoyed-sounding stutters from his throat, reminding Yale of the importance of their mission. “Akaya, did you find it?”

The demon smiled like he was going to hoodwink him, but did not–it was tempting to yank his chain, but time was not exactly of the essence. “Don’t worry, my friend–The Mad Flame is indeed in The Lost Fire Temple, and he confirmed to me that the fragment is there–in fact he wants us to get rid of it…”

Liss-Zael let out an enormous sigh of relief, ignoring that last comment. “Thank goodness…” He noticed the group was looking at him weirdly and chuckled. “Sorry about the ‘tude, kids–I was just a little… on edge you could say.” He then realized the elephant in the room relating to Perkele. “WAIT, I know Perkele knows where the temple is…”

“Fret not–as Yale’s spell should hold!” Akaya assured.

“Wait, you used my spell?” he groaned, mentally predicting a certain someone coming after him…

“Wait, what is Perkele up to?” Will asked as he reverted back and sent his card away, with Morrigan and Ekaterina quietly giggling at his mostly undressed state. To be fair he was quite toned and fit owing to his training.

“We should discuss this back at Milan’s mansion,” Akaya insisted. “...and perhaps find where your clothes went.” This elicited some chuckles.

Will looked down and exhaled. “Oops…”

Mira tugged on Haze a little as she smiled in sympathy for Will. “Um, Haze, dear? Could you go back to Will now?” He did as he was told without objection, changing Will back to Chaos Haze, then reverting to his bodysuit form.

“How fascinating,” Akaya remarked as they began to walk. “Milan and Conquest have been telling me about Haze here…”
