ULTRAMagic Thunder
Name: (Unknown)
Age: Unclear (30+, well over a 100)
Species: Beast
Aptitude: Aberrant
Specialty: Soul magic, Aura, and Void
- - A wayward soul - -
As stated previously, ULTRAMagic Thunder is a beast man who ended up in the Unlight. While unclear what timeline he hailed from initially, it is presumed to be a Victorian era timeline given some of his mannerisms and speech patterns. What turned him into a beast is baffling to those who were not from his timeline. Something pushed him over the edge, and he is reluctant to discuss it. From what can be gathered, important people in his life (his parents from what it seems) vanished. A plague of incomprehensible origins seemed to be affecting his timeline, and he caught the disease in question. Fortunately he retained his humanity, albeit he was constantly pursued by those who feared him.
Thunder grew tired of being chased and hunted, so he left. Beneath his homeland was a grand, ancient city. It was once populated by ancient humans who had discovered the eldritch truth and had vanished. Thunder knew of bizarre doorways that lead to lands unknown and unknowable. These were his best bet to get away from his pursuers. It took a couple of tries to find a working door, but he barged his way in once he did. He had no idea where he was, but he had just entered The Unlight.
- - New friends - -
Something that began to happen was that Thunder was starting to learn magic. The Unlight had seemingly awakened knowledge that was dormant inside of him. As he wandered, what appeared to be ghosts would approach him and vanish into him. These specters granted him clarity, made him feel invigorated, and seemed to unlock more knowledge for him. He was even learning new ways to control the electricity that emanated from his fur. Eventually he wandered into the Thunder Wastelands where he felt calm and at home for some reason. It was most likely the constant thunder and lightning.
What Thunder did not know was that he was absorbing Soul Fragments and was at fragment six. Theoretically he should have been able to go to ULTRAMagic (His soul + 6 Soul Fragments), but he was stuck and not sure what to do. What was he missing? Why did it feel like there was a missing piece of the puzzle? After a length of time spent pondering and thinking, he was approached by a stranger. This stranger was a foreboding man of very old age, yet he walked erect and unhindered. His body was a bizarre mix of runes and cybernetics, with a warped and twisted crown atop his head. He introduced himself as King Brutus IV, an outcast from a place known as Negative Reality.
Brutus was in the Unlight due to having to flee armies that stood to annihilate his kingdom and subjects. He had led his people in an exodus to what he declared the promised land, a region of the Unlight known as The Valley of Eons. Brutus had made sure all of his subjects and kingdom were safe, even going so far as to risk getting left behind to rescue a young boy who had failed to keep up. Once settled down, Brutus took up exploring the realm his kingdom now called home. and truth be told he loved exploring the vast, surreal landscape of the Unlight.
What drew Brutus to Thunder was firstly the beast man's bizarre state of affairs. Secondly was that he could sense a kindred spirit in him. Despite the constant thunderstorms roaring over their heads, he sat down and had a nice, calm conversation with Thunder. Thunder was royally confused, but accepted what Brutus said regardless. It was not any stranger than what he had been going through in his life. The King was able to figure out what was causing the beast's mental block: Ignorance. Thunder had no idea what he was doing. Brutus happily provided the elucidation he needed and Thunder was able to achieve ULTRAMagic.
Sensing a group of mages approaching and realizing he needed to return to his people, Brutus got up to leave. Before he departed, he told Thunder to wait there if he wanted to meet some interesting people he would become friends with. He also extended an invitation to Thunder. If he ever needed a place to call home, he was more than welcome to stay in the Valley of Eons with the rest of Brutus' subjects. Thunder graciously accepted, but first he had to meet these interesting people that had been described.
And if his encounter with ULTRAMagic Walker is anything to go by, it went fantastically...
- - In regards to Thunder - -
Let's discuss his personality. Due to his bestial state, Thunder has a tendency to be brash and poor mannered. His old personality still shines through though. When calm, he is courteous and polite. He is often described as a true gentleman. He idolized his parents who were role models and shrugged off anything that life threw at them. One day his parents vanished, sadly. A lot of pressure was thrust upon him and this is what primarily began his downwards spiral. He had massive shoes to fill and he just could not do it. This immense pressure as often cited is the contributing factor to his beasthood, outside the obvious.
As a beast, his motivation and drive waned, causing him to be more laid back and neglect his manners. He also started viewing humans unfavorably. Humans were such a vain, dogmatic mess. While before he handled things maturely and expertly, now it was just easier to punch the problem until it went away. His mind also began to wander, wondering what was beyond the horizon and the stars themselves. Growing tired of the chaos of his home, he left and never looked back. What was the point? His old society was in shambles and nearly everyone was dead. Since arriving in the Unlight, he's never been happier.
A couple of things to note is that he likes to pull pranks and likes food with kick. The pranks are obvious, but the food preference is something he always had. His food was always spicy, tangy, savory, and/or robust and he would have it no other way. And lastly, he is looking for his parents. He knows they are out there somewhere. He can smell and sense it...
In regards to abilities and powers, Thunder is a wild card. He has knowledge of Soul magic, Aura, and Void. On top of all of this, he has his bolt generation. This aberrant ability stems from his fur, which seems to be a natural conductor of electricity. Fighting Thunder hand to hand is dangerous as he can easily discharge electricity from anywhere at any level, whenever he pleases. Fighting him at range is just as dangerous, given that he has great strength and speed. He can easily close the gap between you and him. Want to try and charm or hypnotize him? Good luck with that. His animal instincts will always be there to tell him otherwise. And do not even think about trying to sneak up on him. He WILL hear you coming. And if he does not hear you? He can smell you, easily.
Given who he is and what he can do, Thunder is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous members of the ULTRAMagic Guild, rivaled by the likes of Magistrate and Blood Wraith.
