After being given a stable form and brought to Hell, Deadlock spent his time with Lucifer and Victoria while they found a suitable family for him. As much as Lucifer would have loved to look after the young demon, he was way too busy. Victoria tried her best, but she was wrapped up with Hell's law enforcement. Fortunately Deadlock met another young demon by the name of Cynassa. Cynassa was bold and adventurous, which Deadlock liked. The two would also meet Stolas, a studious and polite demon. The three got into all sorts of mishaps and escapades. Eventually Lucifer was able to find someone who would take in Deadlock. This demon was the Duke (at the time), Zayme Tah. He was a noble archdemon who was serving under Paimon and was looking to join the Infernal Council of Order.

The Tah family was more than happy to take Deadlock in. Zayme's twin boys, Zan and Zen, were excited to have a new brother. Deadlock was a bit overwhelmed at first, given the openness and the sheer magnitude of the Tah family estate, but he adjusted in time. Zayme was quite the powerful and wealthy demon, so naturally he lived in a mansion on his land the size of a big city. Despite his now hazy memories of Heaven, Deadlock could safely say the mansion was a lot fancier than his old place. Of course he started hanging out with Cynassa and Stolas again once things were all settled in. Funnily enough, Stolas had actually crossed paths with Zan and Zen in school.

Jumping ahead to high school, Deadlock had a few romantic interests. The first one was a strange entity that was nameless, but eventually referred to herself as Desire Chaos (Properly: The Desire of Chaos). Desire and Deadlock got along well, but the two just did not see a relationship in the cards for them. They would go their separate ways, but remained good friends. His next love interest was an attractive, blonde-haired succubus named Marion Devilfay. Note she was a bit of an edge lord in her high school days, which ended up in her titling herself "Tanya the Bloody." Regardless, Deadlock fell in love with her and she followed suit. What solidified the relationship was that Tanya could read Deadlock like a book and knew how to treat him. Plus they were into similar things, so that also helped. While the two have yet to get married to this day, they show NO signs of splitting up anytime soon.

- - Jailer of Lust? - -

After graduating from high school, Deadlock had no idea what to do with himself... Until Tanya made two proposals to him: A vocalist in her metal band and jailer for the wardens of Hell. The former was a side thing she was doing because she was a hardcore metal head and still is... and the latter was the result of a position opening up with the wardens of Hell. The wardens were looking for entities like Deadlock as they were perfect for the job of dealing with foul and malignant spirits. Tanya revealed she had been made a chief officer under the Warden of Lust (commonly referred to as Mama Lust by her associates). Mama Lust had been eyeing Deadlock for a while and she wanted him as one of her jailers. Deadlock was not sure about this, but Tanya appealed to his old Hunter Angel ways.

One of the first things to do was to get him a uniform of sorts. Mama Lust supplied the material and Tanya got to work, crafting a suit Deadlock with love. And she was right... he would rarely ever take the suit off. Things were great at first... until an issue popped up: Deadlock was a bit of a psychopath as a jailer. Punishing sinners of Lust was not supposed to entail ripping them to shreds, eviscerating them, beating them to nothingness... it was as if he was more suited to be a jailer of Wrath. While Mama Lust adored Deadlock, even she had to admit it was probably best for the fallen angel to work under a different warden... Ianoda, the warden of Wrath.

- - Monsterlock... - -

Ianoda had a distinct feeling Deadlock was better off under his watch... and he was right. Suffice it to say a few tyrants that had been condemned to the prison of Wrath were begging for mercy, pleading, and screaming they would never hurt anyone ever again. Some of these people would return to Earth as humanitarians and philanthropists. It was at that point when Deadlock had developed a mindless bloodlust that temporarily turned him into a ravenous beast of a demon. Ianoda was not too sure where this came from, consulting with his brother over this. Adonai revealed that Zas had been an interesting hunter angel, being brutally efficient with his time phantom hunts. That context made Ianoda realize what was going on: Deadlock had a monster inside that had finally taken over.

The Monsterlock era was a blur, given that everybody had went about their business. Deadlock was going through a phase and it was best to let him get all of his rage and feral instincts out. Tanya would take a break from her duties to pursue other interests, such as starting up her own film studio called "Devilfay Productions." This period of time was also when Morrigan Devilfay was born. She would not meet Deadlock for some time due to multiple factors.

- - Recovery from Monsterlock - -

Eventually Deadlock would come to his senses and regain control of himself. Being a wild, bloodthirsty animal was fun... until the reality of what he was doing caught up with him. He was in the middle of punishing a dictator when he came to. Looking at the mess below him, he just tossed them into the prison's furnace and left. He then calmly went to Ianoda and requested an indefinite hiatus. Two swordsmen from the realm of Chaos had recently become jailers, so Ianoda was completely fine with letting Deadlock off the hook for a bit. For a while, Deadlock just sat around, not sure what to do with himself.

And then he had the idea to start incarnating on Earth... an idea he regrets with every fiber of his being to this day... Currently he is incarnated as the human William Ford II.

- - In regards to Deadlock - -

Since William is the closest incarnation to Deadlock himself, a lot of personality traits overlap between the two forms. While he does share his habits with Will, he is nowhere near as stubborn. Deadlock is also a bit more chill compared to Will. While Deadlock can be a bit awkward at times, it is nowhere near as bad as Will. Deadlock also shares Will's Long, fast burning fuse. Also Deadlock is not shy in the slightest, which is kind of bizarre given how close Will is to him.

During his time as a jailer, Deadlock developed a unique ability. He calls it "Deadblood" and it allows him to use his body as a weapon. His blood hardens into that of the sharpest sword and gives him immense durability. He also possesses an Incubus aura due to hanging out with Tanya a lot. This aura allows him to charm almost anyone he sees.

The suit is unique in that it acts as further armor and also protects against spells, rites, and conjurations. Many necromancers have tried to summon Deadlock to no avail. And some extra-universal hunters have even tried to capture Deadlock in the past. One hunter, currently known as ULTRAMagic Desperado, tried to bind Deadlock to a crystal and actually succeeded... until he tried to use Deadlock's power and got charmed by him. That incident haunts Desperado to this day for some reason he does not want to share.

I felt Deadlock was in need of an update, what can I say? The original wasn't great and I wanted to rectify some things. I also wanted to make him easier to draw. Personally I think the most important improvement is that we got off the rock. In case you are wondering about the hair in the back, it extends off the head (obviously) and just floats around back there... defying physics because it can.

I am very happy with how this turned out. Now watch as I never draw deadlock consistently...

Also I have altered the suit... it is now a latex-adjacent material. It's not latex, just latex-adjacent. To be fair, it can turn glossy if he wants it to. Aside from the minor changes, it is pretty much the same. Actually, the design is pretty much the same with some minor improvements. To be fair, I have been needing to give Deadlock a proper profile. I mean jeez, just look at the original upload...
