At one Point, Zas was an angel in Heaven. He was a gray angel (angels who did not delve solely into light or darkness) who served as a hunter angel. Hunters were Angels who went and hunted anomalies that threatened the balance of the realms (Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, and Chaos). Things were great for Zas until a very chaotic incident transpired. That incident was the angel rebellion that prompted the authoring of the books of Enoch, often referred to as the Mt. Hermon Incident. For those that have not read The Books of Enoch, basically a bunch of angels mingled with humans, created the Nephilim, and basically broke a lot of heaven's rules.
Naturally these Angels needed to be punished... being booted from Heaven. The only issue was that certain angels who did nothing wrong also got lumped in with these troublemakers. Naturally this pissed Zas off. Since Archangel Uriel was at the forefront of the prosecutions, Zas went right to him and promptly got into a shouting match with him. Upon not being able to resolve the issue amicably, Zas took Uriel's Heavenly Pancake breakfast and chucked it into the nearest Heavenly Dumpster. He then stormed out of Uriel's palace and declared he was leaving Heaven.
Angels used to leave Heaven fairly often in the past. Naturally stuff like this influences the third dimension as it is usually used as a gateway to Hell given that Hell is a mix of the third and fourth dimension. After a fireball (lost to history) appeared over what would become the Arizona desert in the far flung future, a black blob would realize something went horribly wrong. You see, normally Zas would have ended up as a regular fallen angel with darkened wings and halo. What happened was that an entity from the void messed with Zas' travel, causing him to hit reality at the wrong angle. This resulted in him becoming 0 dimensional (we'll get to that in a minute).
Immediately he was spotted by a strapping, 5th dimensional Reality Walker named Infinity, who was accompanied by Lucifuge Rofocale (the right hand of Lucifer). Lucifuge wasn't too sure what he was looking at, but Infinity was panicking. 0 dimensionals were unstable and could easily break reality. Fortunately Zas was inexplicably young, so they had time to act. Infinity explained the issue and Lucifuge naturally shat a brick, zooming off to Hell to get Lucifer immediately. This was unnecessary as Lucifer was already on his way after being alerted by Heaven. Lucifer was stunned as he had met Zas when he was a young angel, before he had been exiled from Heaven. Infinity took Zas to the 0 dimension and brought back a young demon named Deadlock.
Lucifer and his wife, Victoria Justice (the at the time head sheriff of Hell's police force), would take Deadlock in for a while until they could find an appropriate family for him. During this time, Deadlock would become friends with two other young demons: Cynassa and Stolas. In time, Lucifer would hand Deadlock off to a family whose patriarch served on Hell's Council of Order (the ruling body of Hell, under the 4 Emperors of Hell). That family is a story for another day (as in a future upload, haha), but just know that Deadlock was welcomed with open arms into his new family.
Zas' departure did not go unnoticed by the rest of Heaven. A young Angel named Raguel, who looked up to Zas for his Hunter escapades, was devastated. He was so shook by this event that he swore to climb the hierarchy of Heaven, become an Archangel, and find out what truly happened to Zas.

So what is my interpretation of Hell?
Well basically it's not the contradictory nonsense you see portrayed by Christianity and Catholicism. You know what I am referring to: The Hell that's both a punishment for sinners and a super villain hideout base at the same time, yet the super villains are in charge of punishing sinners which would make the good, but they're still PURE EVIL!!! No, none of that nonsense. Heaven and Hell are neither inherently good nor inherently evil. Heaven represents Light while Hell represents Darkness. Heaven is for those who have elevated themselves in the dimensional hierarchy (4th, 5th, 6th, and so on and so forth). Hell is for those that have nowhere to go. Sure, there is Purgatory, but it's way too drab and stagnant. Chaos... well the less we say about the realm the better. Many have joked about why isn't there is Heaven 2 if it's so great... well that's Hell. The 4 emperors of Hell also have agreed to assist Heaven in dealing with their problem cases.
Adonai's brother would also step up and form the Wardens of Hell. These entities serve to lock up and contain any soul or entity that threatens to destabilize Earth and any planets overseen by Adonai and his Angels.

What is the 0 dimension? And what is this form of Deadlock?
0D is what you get when you divide reality by 0... 0D is the singularity of a dimension that bridges the gap between the positive dimensions and the negative dimensions. Ideally a 0 dimensional should never leave 0D as they will break the rest of reality. The most noteworthy residents of 0D are the Chaos Kin, often nicknamed "Nightmare Nephilim." This is what Zas became. What we see here is the third dimensional manifestation of his true form. Deadlock can take on this form because... why not? Zas' true form is incomprehensible to third dimensionals.
Zas in this form is a distortion of reality. He exists yet he does not exist. Chaos Kin are often deemed as living contradictions. They also come in all shapes and colors. Every Chaos Kin also has a visible core, in the form of an eye. This core is their being, with the void goo surrounding them acting as a body. Note that Chaos Kin can send their consciousness outside of 0D, which allows them to interact with the rest of the dimensions.
Also 0D is hard to explain to third dimensionals and difficult to understand in the third dimension. Basically something has to exist at the center of the dimensional hierarchy and it can't be nothing. There can never be truly nothing... so the void fills that gap, creating a dimension that should not exist. It's basically the MissingNo of reality.
