At some point in the past, there was a powerful dark mage who sought to conquer The Unlight. A foolish, impossible task... but the dark mage wasn't going to be stopped. Together with the forces she wrought from her own flesh, she set out and began claiming vast swathes of the Unlight. One of her daughters had betrayed her, but it was of no concern. The conquest could not be stopped... but then something dire happened. The dark mage had begun channeling the power of the void itself. In a battle with the daughter who had betrayed her, she stole some of her power.
The daughter had mastered the void in order to stop her mother, so surely the dark mage could use it too. What happened was that the void overwhelmed the dark mage and left her at death's door. To her surprise, her daughter had taken pity on her and sought out individuals from a universe in reality to help her. She was able to heal her mother, at the cost of most of the dark mage's power. Upon coming to, the dark mage had a realization that a conquest of the Unlight was impossible and abandoned her plans...
Elsewhere, the dark mage's other daughter, Eliza, had been fighting a battle against her sister's allies. The news of the dark mage's change of heart had devastated Eliza. What was this nonsense? Her mother had promised her subjects the stars and then some. Why was she just giving up, especially when they were making progress?! It did not help that the Unlight was getting unruly too. Feeling betrayed, Eliza chose to take matters into her own hands. If her mother wouldn't conquer the Unlight, she would. Now Eliza was tasked with the creation and resurrection of the dark mage's forces, so she was all set to go.
There was a problem in that Eliza was construct consisting of cream... All of the dark mage's forces were whimsical, being based off of all kinds of food. This would have to change. Eliza sought a strange fountain that contained a strange, liquid metal substance. She would absorb some of this metal to alter the nature of her being. To her shock, she sunk into the metal upon waking into the fountain. Liquid metal filled her lungs and it felt like her body was ripped to shreds. After some time, someone would emerge from the fountain. This was Empress Eliza-Rex. This was the beginning of the Metal Empire.
- - The Metal Era - -
Upon returning to her army, she immediately began converting them into metal, stone, and gem. Once her armies were ready, Eliza-Rex resumed the conquest that her mother had abandoned. The Metal Empire at the moment focuses on gathering up unoccupied Unlight so they can bolster their grip on the Unlight. While she was livid and bloodthirsty at first, Eliza-Rex did have time to cool down and think. The ULTRAMagic guild was bound to get in the way at some point and she did not want to anger them. She also did not want to fight them.
Her Sister's team had an ULTRAMagic Mage, Lance, with them. He was nothing to sneeze at. Given that the guild was at 100+ members, she had to go about this tactfully. Plus the guild had Infinity, who was also a Reality Walker. The last thing she needed was the Multiverse Patrol getting involved. Something did catch her eye: Captain Roger. This strange interloper seemed to be interested in the guild and individuals from a specific timeline. Even more so, this timeline also had connections to the timeline her sister had sought out to heal her mother. Perhaps a more diplomatic approach would yield favorable results...
- - About Eliza-Rex - -
Eliza-Rex is currently a liquid metal construct with access to Weave magic. She cares deeply for her armies and wouldn't have them any other way. Eliza-Rex is a shapeshifter and can easily adapt to any situation. No one is sure if she even has a weakness and it's very concerning. Strangely Eliza-Rex doesn't usually use her body to fight, preferring to use her sword. She is a very adept swordsman and even has a second sword she uses for serious battles.
As powerful as she seems to be, what is an Empress without her soldiers? They come in all shapes, sizes, and materials. Typically the soldiers divide up into squadrons with their own abilities and specialties. The apex of Eliza-Rex's army is the commanding officers. Of note, there is General Bismuth, Commander Mercury, Captain Alexandrite, Lieutenant Geode, and Colonel Tungsten. Of note, Tungsten bares a striking resemblance to Captain Roger...
Personality-wise, Eliza-Rex is stern, stoic, and has a low tolerance for dishonor. She's a thinker, willing to play the long game if need be. She's also not against siding with her enemies if a greater enemy arises. When no one is looking, the leader melts away and Eliza-Rex relaxes. She becomes care-free, joyful, kind, and artistic. Sometimes she wonders if the dream of conquering the Unlight is even worth it. So far only Bismuth, Mercury, and a couple of others only have permission to see the empress during her off time. Jumping back to her on time, beware that Eliza-Rex has a bit of a temper. Double-cross her? She'll shoot you dead. Constantly try to cut her off, preventing her from speaking? She'll stab your heart out. Engage in dirty tactics on the battlefield? Don't be surprised when she orders an all-out charge on you.

Yeah, I know in this Unlight Denizens: Will (Unlight) I said I would do Eldritch Frisk Part 2 today. I'm sorry. I just got swept up into this after posting my thoughts in a discussion thread on Twitter. Good lord I wish I could discuss one of my sources of inspiration... Will I be drawing the commanding officers? Yes. Will Eliza-Rex be appearing in ULTRAMagic Alternate? Of course she will. So while I still suck at art, I did want to try making it look like she was looking down at you... I need more practice. Originally this was going to be a darkened teaser with a slightly more dynamic pose, but I decided against that. Plus I don't have the kind of audience for that to be successful yet. Also I wanted to try some shading given that I did not want the image to be flat. I can't rely on latex all of the time for shading. Also yeah... I intended for her to be left handed... yeah.
Of the sources of inspiration I can discuss, Sabaton. SABATON. Specifically Carolus Rex (the album and song). Also there is some Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood in there. Good lord, I freaking love power metal.
