ULTRAMagic Shadowland - Chapter 30

Previous | First | Interlude BC Master Post - Patreon      All of Hell broke loose as Milosh and his fellow beasts struggled to stand. Milosh felt his body get hot, he could not breathe, his vision blurred, his limbs went weak, and a pounding headache raged in his head. The others were convulsing on the ground, having incredible seizures. Everything started to become a blur for Milosh as he felt his body failing him, but something caught his attention. Gummi stood there, laughing victoriously. Seeing the last of the cult dying before him was his greatest catharsis possible.      “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?!” Milosh screeched through slurred words as he stumbled about.      Gummi took one last large drag of his cigar and exhaled a large plume of smoke. “Claudius helped me whip up that toxic little cocktail you downed. Surprised it took this long to kick in…” He laughed once more and threw the dummy vial on the ground, smashing it. “Consider th...

ULTRAMagic Shadowland - Chapter 29

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      Gabriella and Weaver were out shopping on the third day, wanting to take some souvenirs and supplies back to The Unlight. Finding Faolán was going to be a bit of an endeavor after all. Weaver was enjoying the New Paradiso Mall. It was like a small version of The Market District, except cleaner and more organized. The sounds, scents, and stores excited him to no end. Something Weaver loved doing was peering into the outlets from the windows. He wanted to visit every single one, but did not have the time to do so. Out of all the stores, the electronics stores were his favorites. Something about the advanced technology (to him) and the flashy aesthetics of them spoke to his inner child, provoking a desire to purchase a random box of metal and wires so he could play around with it.      As the pair took a break at a restaurant, Gabriella realized something. “Oh! Weaver, want to go to the arcade?”  ...

ULTRAMagic Shadowland - Chapter 28

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      The next day was a busy one for Weaver and Gabriella. They woke up with a spring in their step, getting ready for a conference Gabriella was to attend. Many governing bodies of Inferno were very interested in what had been happening to Shadowland and The Iron City. While this was going on, things were very active back in Shadowland. Trains were coming and going, people headed out on missions to reclaim the kingdom’s resources, and heavy machinery was being brought in from all over. Barna and Gratiana had noticed all of this, going for a walk to observe what they could.      “Goodness, Sten’s not wasting any time getting things back in order, is he?” Gratiana pointed out as several military trucks rolled past them on the street.      Barna coughed a little over the dust being kicked up. “Can’t say I blame him after all he’s gone through. I’d dare say he might be a little worried over Mil...

ULTRAMagic Shadowland - Chapter 27

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      Weaver could tell from the visit to Stolon’s mansion that Stolas did not get out much. The way he talked and acted indicated this. While Weaver was happy that Stolas was content with his hobbies, he stressed that the demon needed to get out more. The rest of the day was spent at home, with Gabriella and Weaver relaxing in her room. She wanted to take some time to get Weaver up to speed on how Inferno worked. There was still a lot he was not familiar with, despite how civil and organized things were. Unfortunately Weaver was starting to look a little stir crazy around late afternoon, so Gabriella decided to wrap things up.      “...and there’s a lot more I could tell you, but we’ll be here all night.”      “How do you guys even put up with all that drama surrounding your Earth? Heh, I thought my Earth was bad… and don’t even get me started on Milosh. Hard to believe this is the universe h...

ULTRAMagic Shadowland - Chapter 26

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      After a delightful lunch, Gabriella and Weaver briefly retired to a lounge to let their food settle before heading out. Noticing a magazine on a coffee table, Weaver picked it up and began looking through it. “Fashion? Hum… What the? Hey, Gabriella, what’s with all these demons wearing these weird clothes?”      “Oh it’s just the current fashion trend. Rubber and synthetic fabrics are in right now. Not my cup of tea personally as I prefer clothes that breathe.”      “Jeez, none of this looks practical in the slightest…”      “They really aren’t. I’m hoping things shift towards traditional Victorian dress. I can’t get enough of that aesthetic-as you can certainly tell. Of course due to Inferno being non-linear in time, we have an ungodly amount of fashion to choose from.”      “I see. Heh, that’s not bad… So what was in before this?”      “...

ULTRAMagic Shadowland - Chapter 25

Previous | First | Next Master Post - Patreon      Despite the momentous victory over The Eternal Church (an ironic name at this point), Shadowland was not quite out of the woods yet. First came the return of the money the cult had hoarded for so long. Some tried to claim they were owed more while others claimed they were given too much. No matter who said what, Sten stood firm. He knew the process would be bumpy and expected friction. Of course he graciously accepted any money that was donated to the crown. Sten insisted against this, but he could not stop it. These individuals would be noted so that they could receive appropriate breaks with future taxes.      Another occurrence in relation to everything was the last of the cult turncoats, who were turning themselves in. This ranged from those who were stubborn to those who were caught between a rock and a hard place, with each person being handled accordingly. Unbeknownst to those outside of the roy...
